Aww look at the little thing lay in that cardboard box poor homeless thing. Soon it will be wipped off its feet and stuffed in a dark cell ready to be pounded by its new owner. It wont take long to break it tho Pete is a master torturer!

Im sure it will be fine this time round neil has done hes upmost to make sure everything is as good as possible from cleanliness to fine measurements rather than slapping it together i think you would be hard pushed to find someone else that would be that anal about it all ..... if you break it i would seriously consider selling up and getting a pushbike lol ....

diff bearing can be sourced from a bearing shop, exact same as oem but cheaper , 20th not too long a wait though. only 2 bearings need be from nissan for box .

Not these ones,
They're unique to Nissan.
Bearing number is ET-CR-1271ST if anyone can have better luck?

However myself and Pete discussed sourcing a taper roller bearing based on the overall bearing dimensions eg ID=60mm, OD=87mm and width=20mm
These are NOT DIN or ISO standard dimensions, even NTN don't show anything;
http://www.ntnglobal.com/tool/search/list.php?cat=tapered_roller_metric_brgs&lang=en_US
but a contact of his managed to locate something that might have fitted.

My problem was the following?
is the taper angle and cage size the same so it wont foul anything?
Is the capacity (strength) as good as stock?

So, I think Pete made the right decision to wait a bit longer and get the proper bearing.

Yep, we've come this far and waited this long, there's no point in even taking a slight risk with it! And yes nomad if I do do the unthinkable then it will be game over for me I'm afraid

They listed in ntn japan catalogue, bearing retailers here have them in at least 2 brands.
Main dealer not to long a wait so not big concern & indeed better than risking a wrong bearing oor poor quality .

Any chance you could have a look at the numbers and see if they match Johnny?

No way?
Could you find out how much the NTN bearing will be and if it's available now? Very Happy
If it could be shipped here sooner then the 20th then Pete might be able to make the Coombe show
Very Happy

You don't have Anglia bearing company or something similar?? I could swear that I've replaced diff bearings on my mates car few years back. I've just took old bearing to my local gearbox specialist and had exactly the same bearing next day...

That sounds fine for a stock box but Pete is gonna chuck out more than 400bhp and IMO the bearings need to be pucka

I think you'll find goskek's was possibly front diff bearings, not the final drive/vcd bearings.
I spoke with bearing retailer this morning it non stock as non standard. is in his NTN bearing lists & only made by NTN bearing but is listed twice with spec options .
Listed as ET-CR-1271ST or ET-CR-1271ST-G
One you want ET-CR-1271ST <> 3844079E00
sourced from stockist Dubai, won't know delivery times/options or final price until Monday when he can message stockist .

A number try in UK just for a try is The Bearing Shop (They a side business of a gearbox repair centre) use to be quite helpful on bearings & seals - 01392 680880

Nice bit of baking above, hope you wore your wifes apron & wiped hands in dish cloth hahaha :-)
amount of shit in that freshly built box that done less than 100mls was shocking lol .
Was really really lucky only 2 par gears junked .
One thing proved so far is you can't do much of a rebuild to box in an evening & requires fair bit of new parts if care about quality/tolerances & downtime while sourcing them .

Spoke with bearing shop this afternoon, bearing is 2,170bt (about£47 with weak brexit £), stockist won't ship direct uk so would have come here first . Seems more common find them asia or US as used more in those regional models and here closer link to supply chain probably .

They will but you have waited this long mate. Be worth it in the end.

If your not driving it your not breaking it

Started measuring  the shaft heights today to gauge the bearing clearances.
