Another day and today got the bonnet stripped and removed along with wipers, scuttle panel etc Snapped several more bolts today so started drilling them out and repairing the threads.


Does anyone know what the bracket behind the turret is for?

The one for injector resistor pack mate ?

Ahh it could be, mine was mounted on the turret itself but think maybe i had to move it years ago when i fitted a strut brace.

There is a thiner bit goes onto that one mate and pack bolts to it

It might not seem like it mate but your lucky I want to do mine been turned down for 2 units now as they want clean storage or companys in but not mechanics . No good bending the truth saying storage or I will just get thrown out of unit and car will be in bits there 5-700 a month up here aswell

Well you could always come down here, rent a unit where mine is and live in a caravan on the field up the road

Well been a while since last update, started pulling the inside apart this weekend; might regret it though. It looks so confusing as I'm taking the dash area to pieces

Its not that bad tbh, just take loads of photos when taking stuff off. Youll find when rebuilding especially with the loom etc, it just flops back into place.

Yeah taking a few photos, can't believe how much dust and crap is hidden in there, gonna go like a missile when I'm finished

I always like to label stuff as i go that way your never left scratching your head with what went where ...

I struggled with those lines for the heater matrix and vents from memory.

If it wasn't for the fact I wanna change the dash and remove anything left of the air con in the car, I probably wouldn't have touched it. I think in the long run I'll be glad I did as I've already found a boost pipe that's been blocked off by a previous owner

Thats true, honestly there is so many hidden things that people dodgy up under the dash.

Had fun removing the right wing as the 2 bolts on the silk were folded over from being jacked on by a previous owner, nothing a hammer and drill couldn't fix. Wing is scrap so gonna hunt down decent new ones. Couldn't believe the mud hiding down there

Lots of hidden areas mate protect them well on rebuild. Lots of people think there R is quite clean or slight rust its it until you start stripping them do you see how clean or bad it is

Not yet mate but she will get whatever she needs to be 100% right, no corners cut no skimping on funds. How you getting on with yours, you got a place yet?

The list is slowly getting bigger as expected. Both front shocks are goosed, one was even banana shaped not sure how but I've never really felt the suspension was that bad...

Well there isn't much left to come off on the outside, complete suspension replacement is now required so may treat her to a nice bc setup. One of the rear hubs is really putting up some resistance. I've have the hub and driveshaft soaking for nearly 2 weeks. If it doesn't come free this weekend with my 10 ton puller, I'll threaten it with my 50 ton press at work

Do you do much heating or freezing at work mate ?
