Full respray

Cars going in for a full respray at the end of november, just the outside, no colour change £950 which i didnt think was too bad for base and clear coat ??

Thats a fair price ....aslong as its actually all being sprayed and not just blown in and mopped  panels ....is it a mate doing it for you darren ?

He painted my wife 1961 moggie soft top anout 5 yrs ago so i know his work and it will be a full sand and paint. Started off at £1200 till he could see i was humming and ahhhing then price came down.

Thats not to bad then ..... you cant beat abit of umming and arghing to help get the price down ..... like i said its not a bad price for a blow over  .... how did you get on with your arches and welding ????

Just had a price on mine at two spots.


spot no 1. Asked me to strip the car (not a problem as I am going to strip it fully down an rebuild the lot) and also asked me to strip the car down to bare metal.

There quote £3500 wtf that was for am not too sure.

Spot no 2. Asked to strip the car down an they will do the rest at a cost of £2500

What??? The best painter I know only wanted £1400 and he wanted to strip the car at that. Think your being shafted,

Its who you know that counts..... but 3 grand is a piss take price did you say i want you to spray it not buy the car off me 

The first spot I went to got told they were taking the piss the second spot I was a bit more to the point by telling him to drop dead lol

yeah i had a quote like that but was more including the arches, which he quoted 600 each to do

I wouldn't mind the £2500 quote if the arches needed doubt but they are solid no rust nothing.

Anyone actully worked out how much that quote works out at. Last car i had done was not bare metal. Windows out and back in £80 paint n laqure x amount  ? and two lads preping it 5 days as to get a top job most labour is at least £30 a hour then 1 lad to spray it what say2 days  for a good job ? Work that out or am i way off the mark here ? 
Ps i did not pay no where near that but average price now is 80 quid for a door or wing and 120-150 for a bonnet very little work in them  hence people would rather do them and insurance work over full dips

Is that an offer of doing all the prep work for me bob .....after all you cant show favouritism now 

Most decent body shops charge a 100 per panel that's what I've a
