Stripped & ready for respray

Well update on my car. Its finaly going to the bodyshop tonight after a month & a half of the guy putting the job off.
So im hoping it will be done in 2 weeks time'ish

Ill keep it updated & upload photos along the way

Its been doing my head in mate as the lad thats doing it has been pissing about, if it didnt go to him this week i was going to tell him where to go & go elsewhere but its being sorted now thank god

Well went & looked at the R tonight for the first time since it went to the bodyshop, as its a cash job the lad is only getting chance to work on it after he finishes work, so that's why its taking a while.
As its going white again he's only had to scotch the paint back so not had to use primer, Just got to put arches in now as they are f**ked & its ready for paint

I know mate, im not doing it, its a friend who works in a bodyshop but its all cash in hand so its when he gets time to do it after work, he reckons 4 weeks till I get it back, then ive got my own bits to do before nurburgring :/ so pushing it realy But IT WILL be ready even if I don't sleep for a few nights lol

Are you colour coding the bump strips aswell gaz ?

No Leighton, there getting sprayed black as im not realy a fan of the R colour coded, prefer the original OE look with just tastefull mods!

Im undecided on what im doing mine coded or not ..... just wondered as they were primed up .

He's spraying them all white then masking & blacking the top of bumpers afterwards as he reckons he will get a better finish where he has to mask it

Think i will do the same tbh ...i can spray them black after it thats the route i go .

Ill find out what the paint is called he's using to black the bumpers & let you know, as it comes out like a factory rough finnish

Yeah that would be cushty mate if you could ..... ive decided im going to have a go myself ive done panels and bonnets etc never done a whole car so we will see

Im going next weekend to have a look at some paint my daughter has bought me a d.a.
For my compresser for fathers day bless her .... so going to whip a wing off and hav3 a practice setting up me gun then its hours of prep the bit im not looking forward too

getting there mate.That rough/textured paint is ideal gaz looks brilliant on the black bits of bumpers i even seen them use it on where the black bits are on the doors at back of the window ie i think its normally where there is a bit of plastic film.good on you for not colour coding bumpers i don't think it suits the R but everyone to there own i suppose

Nope Im not a fan of colour coding, other models of cars it looks ok but not on the GTiR imo :/
