Poor you neil my heart really goes out for you on this build ... i mean the bare face cheek having to put up with a non standard gearset do you feel you have been misled by the former keeper .... i would take the gearbox and throw it through hes window and demand a standard replacement Laughing

I have a standard gearbox in the same state that I would swap with him to make things better.

Its for spares mate.
I took my gearbox in the specialists to be cleaned because the magnet had come loose and shattered and was stuck to everything.
When he stripped it he fount a few teeth with a couple of chips so I bought another gearbox that had syncro issues and he stripped that and mine down and built my gearbox out of the two :-)

Handy thing to have nowadays, especially the case.
Most of the internals are replaceable, but not the case as far as im aware.

The seller told me it had a fair wedge spent on it but i was new to the scene and didnt take it all in.
He told me it had forged pistons, fmi is obvious, uprated brakes..but the gearbox i knew nothing about.
Tbh i was always expecting to find a bit of coke hidden somewhere. The seller and his mates werent the types to get on the wrong side of drink

Good order Quaife box worth close to £2K so good to have & makes up for major loss from engine.
I would take look at ecu & see if you got lucky with that with perhaps a nistune board .

Fingers crossed for present no.2

I've spent half the last 2 months under the car and can confirm the ARB and all bushes are defo standard,
Bushes are totally fubar tho' which is why i'm looking to replace them.
I can only find powerflex ones, but i'd prefer std if Nissan still do them
