Well its a business my company uses as the parts suppliers of the machinery we sell can be extortionate. I'll sort a link at some point, getting used to my new tablet as my laptop has packed up.

well not really had much time for the pulsar over the last few weeks as had a few problems at home. However i finally pulled me finger out and got the grinder to work. So far cleaned up all the boot floor and above the fuel tank and no horror stories to be found. All in primer now so will give it a week to dry, make sure theres no reaction or spots ive missed and then get some coats of underseal on.

not good mate, think every pulsar should come with a free welder and some sheet metal. so many water traps hidden away. Best to just bite the bullet strip it right down and see how bad it is.

Cheers Fred, taken a while but i'm slowly getting there. Once i've received my sub frame bushes from vss-irvine i can start rebuilding the sub frame

Well I had a little delivery from 3m last week so set about undersealing the car and getting closer to getting it rebuilt thanks to Pete getting hold of 2 diff seals for me.

Where do you get these diff seals from Wink

Very nice job on the underseal mate. Did you angle grind clean the bottom before painting ? Find any rust ?

some pictures of the tank and fuel lines replacement would be greatly appreciated when you get chance. very high on my list of things to do. i get a really strong smell of petrol inside and outside the rear of my car but there's no evidence of a leak underneath so i'm thinking the upper pipes are at fault.

it only smells strong with 3/4's to a full tank. around half tank does not smell at all - what the hell does that mean!?!?

cheers and good luck!

Adam

Yes mate used my grinder and many wire brushes and I was amazed as to how clean it was where the fuel tank and sub frame sit. Bit of surface rust aroud the rear box section but no holes. I'm about to move forward to the middle section where exhaust and prop sit and I've found my first and only bit which will need to be plated underneath.

Yes im currently working on the inside. I have rwmoved most of the sound deadening, wiring looms and now getting stuck into grinding it clean for a paint. I jad found 3 bad rust holes mostly around the foot wells and hidden by seal glue.

Is there any chance you could do a how to ? Even maybe a couple of pics.

Im scratching my head on the underseal. Dont know where to mount the stands to not damage it and removing the subframe are my biggest concerns and what choice of underseal/rust preventative.

Are you doing the fuel lines as well?

Thanks alot joel

I've already replaced all the fuel pipe on the tank but dont have any pics mate, have hundreds of pictures of everything else, what pics/details are you looking for?

The only rust I've found inside the car is around the drivers rear strut turret (page2) which looks to be a common water trap.

With regards to underseal and primer I've used bilt hamber primer(Electrolux) and then 3m Shultz underseal and so far has gone really well together.

With the axel stands I've put mine on the rear box section with an oval hole as it was solid, just don't use the floor pan.

Cheers

Thanks for the picture! WTF!?!? how many pipes are on top of the tank!!! affraid

i thought there would be the 3 that run the length of the car to the engine + the filler neck Smile is that another fuel filter i see? (bottom middle of the picture?)

how much fuel pipe should I buy to redo all and what is the inner/outer dimensions of the pipe? did you find the clips were all re-useable?

bilt-hamber do dynax s50 which is good cavity treatment and the 60cm application lance is bloody brilliant, spray it in everywhere! look in the 'how to use' section in this link...
