Managed to get back on the pulsar jobs this eve now all my other work has calmed down a bit.

Fitted the other gauges to my pod.

Should help keep an eye on all things.

And made some progress with my exhaust mods.

Looks good, the gauge pod looks like pretty tidy and fits well, are you going to black it out?

Yea just fitting everything up first, then I'll spray it black so it's more discrete Smile

Nearly there with the exhaust, it’s all fully welded, just need to put a couple more hangers on it and connect up the valve cable which will sit next to the handbrake.

The idea being it will be nice and quiet and the gasses will flow through the rear silencer and out of the discrete pipe on the lhs when the valve is closed. Then when the valve is open be nice and loud and take the easy route out of the rhs 4” tail pipe for when you want some noise Twisted Evil

How do you find your valve Johnny? Do you still get abit of blow by? or it seal well?

Finally got the R fired up after tracing a fault to a dodgy/dry/broken connector on the +ve lead to the coil.

Not sure i'd ever want the valve closed... Twisted Evil

I've got a turbo back 3" system on mine & use it as a daily. Personally I don't even really notice how loud it is now...although my mate says its ridiculous (he drives a bog standard TFSI Golf GTI so I don't really listen to what he says anyway :p)
The valve will probably be handy when leaving home early or returning late but other than that I can't see you using it too much; the sound is quite addictive! Very Happy

Like a jet fighter?? Lol

Got my battery tray mounted tonight, all sealed underneath and some nice big washers to spread the loads. Cables cut to length and p-clipped down. Now just need to decide if I should box it all in or not...

Sorry mate thought I replied to this yes still blow by I guess this is good tho as mine is just in a single pipe so would not want it to fully shut I just close it down for noise test limit and to enter housing estate late hours

No worries, Yea makes sense yours isnt fully closed if placed inline, where abouts in the system is it?

Think i'd do mine abit differently next time if i was to do it again, but still happy with the results Very Happy

Progress is looking good thumbsup

Maybe daft question but how best to connect battery cables to original cables in engine bay? Might move mine to rear?

I went straight inline with the main power cable with a crimp like this...
Rebuild Time - Page 2 Capture5

Then heatshrinked over it and ran the cable back through a hole in the bulkhead (grommeted and sealed) by the ac pipes, up the tunnel, under the rear seats then past the fuel tank access and behind the NS rear boot trim.

I've got a battery isolator inline in the little storage box/ elbow rest on the tunnel, which I might change to a 'kill switch' by putting the alternator out to the battery side of that.

The battery is earthed just at the back to the turret and kept the original engine block to earth stud in the engine bay to.

Currently cranks and charges fine without any voltage drop.

Wow been a while since I’ve updated this and had time to carry out much work on the pulsar! But back on it now!
Latest jobs have been cleaning and painting the underside. Got the subframe and arms etc back from the powder coaters after sand blasting, so have fitted new bushes and fitted up the rear coil overs and strut brace to.

Next on the list is clean and paint uprights and recon the rear brake callipers.
