I think this is one for Mulder & Scully  :-/

Yes agree looks like that sort of thing, no comments on size or material of or why he looking at oil feed to start with so hard have answers really ...
Nose of the strainer look a right mullered mess & looking at mesh looks like it been stabbed inwards rather than object pasing out from hole .

He sent me a photo of this earlier and I thought by pic on my phone it was pressure relief valve but changed my mind now.

I have a feeling that is part of the timing chain tensioner which works on sprung oil pressure, not 100% on that but will have a look at a tensioner on Monday to see if I'm a genius or a geek lol

Mate read back through and answer some of the questions from Mr B as its looking more and more likely you've got bigger issues than just no oil to the turbo, especially when your finding parts of your chain tensioner in the sump.

Nomad may have found the image but it was mister pedicure himself (bob) who led him down the right garden parth with tensioner. Them nails do look pretty on Facebook mate lol

I know i have big issues but i havnt got the knowledge to take the engine apart and find out, so looks like its going be a dead pulsar for a very long time or broke for parts Sad

^ So what led you to think oil supply issue to Turbo, Dead turbo bearing !? & why it been laid it for a while ...
If that popped out it could of damaged sprocket - chain etc or even stabbed against oil pump housing puncturing/cracking it !
Would assume too with the squirter out a lot more oil can flow from that port possibly lowering flow considerably elsewhere.
Issue could also be crud blocking things, ie: chain squirter blocked & pressure forced it out & also perhaps blockages in oil feed to turbo.
Needs proper looking at to conclude what going on ...

Take the Credit Nomad, tensioner not look like that so will give you the top tech award this week ...
Spoke with engine machinist this afternoon as he quite into his sr20's & he said some people mod them by welding an extension to end so can not come out unless timing recover removed. Never seen one out till this thread but something will look at next sr20 job.

Is the squirter placed in such a way that a loose chain could knock it off?

Basically the story goes, i burst an oil pipe early last year although i only drove a few hundred meters it killed the engine!! So i payed alot of money for this  forged engine and fitted it with my dad who loves the pulsar more that me lol. I did about 300/400 miles and the tubby died, so i have brought a new tubby witch has cost me £0000s so b4 i i fitted it i wanted to know it had a oil supply and at the moment it seems there wasnt, so thats why my last tubby died and it wanst a standard 1 either £0000 down the pan. Now with this it mite be the final straw!!!

Looks like you may of picked up a poorly built forged engine.
Before giving up it maybe worth proper inspection & some thought as might be easier cheaper resolve than think.
Even if decide out of you price range or wanted involvement, if rest of car good enough you should be able sell it on at decent price as market little bit stronger at moment due to low availability.

I brought a pulsar with a forge engine and ran it for about 6months b4 i broke it so its something i have probably done wrong fitting it
