just started stripping andy chans old car seeing that no one wanted it for a bargain price Rolling Eyes

anyway heres what 1.3 bar does to a fairly good clutch with loads of meat on it, im not sure if this was an exedy or nismo clutch as its stamped with nismo crown but also has a daiken logo on it too which is strange

just as i expected....the drive plate broke which got jammed between flywheel and pressure plate this in turn put excess pressure on one side of release bearing and caused that to break up too

anyway the whole clutch assembly will be put in my parts for sale thread if anyone wants a good used clutch Laughing

My first Exedy clutch from Techniclutch did this and that was only on 1bar! Touch wood the replacement i got has been ok for the best part of 4 years/30,000 miles. Dont think it has long left in it though which is why i have purchased the perfect clutch to go in when ready Cool

About 10 years ago all the Exedy clutches were doing this and Exedy refused to acknowledge there was a problem. It put me off the company for life, although I understand they are suposed to have improved since then.

Bob I think Nismo clutches are just made by exedy as I had a twin plate one on the skyline my dad had and its was a "nismo" one but its just re badged exedy.

Diaken make the below clutches,

Exceeds (this is diaken own personal sales brand)

Ap racing

Borg and beck

Helix

Nismo

Diaken are the largest clutch manufacturer in the world. Some one like helix would spec what they want and diaken would say it will be "x" per thousand units.
