I just fitted an exedy stage 1 organic clutch kit to my gti-r, dont have many mods and dont really intent to mod it anymore engine wise (exhaust, air filter, fuel pump & fmic is all i have), i have bedded the clutch in for 230miles now and when pulling from a junction and doing a sort of quick take off (not an aggressive launch) the clutch slipped while changing 1st to 2nd (well i think it slipped). i thought this clutch would have been enough for a near stock gti-r but have i maybe bought the wrong clutch?

dont fancy having to take the box off again to replace the clutch so does anyone else have any experience with these clutches and should it be slipping, or is it just needing bedded in better as it sometimes still judders at junctions?

Thanks in advance

was it a genuine exedy you fitted or an ebay mickey mouse one?
did you fit the complete 3 part clutch?

it shouldnt slip at all, wheres the biting point on the pedal is it near the top of travel or nearer the bottom?

no not an ebay one, got it from mad motors and paid £280 for it so hope it is genuine, everything looked legit, packaging and clutch looked all good quality, the juddering has kinda died down it was alot worse when i first got it however never slipped, im not sure if it was a slip or not but it sounded like a slight scrape when i shifted, ill give it a better test tomorrow and see if it does actually slip.

picture of the clutch and yes it was a 3 part clutch kit i bought (pressure plate, housing, release bearing)

the biting point is near the centre pretty much exactly the same as the standard clutch that was in previous
