It does settle yea but the front right sits lower than the left and it just feels abit stodgy the rear is fine just the front end so maybe need replacing

Yes mate all checked and fine no leaks, think its just where they are old and worn the need replacing which is why I am thinking of the coil over route with all the adjustability

BC not a bad option for new & Bobs member price, mine are fine on road with sensible spring rates & progressive tender & linear main springs.
Big plus on BC is better built, sensible service costs on struts and with height adjustment on hub mounting you can set ride height & corner weights correctly.

Fair enough, what is a sensible spring rate though?

for road use around 4.25kg/mm[F] 3.5kg/mm[R]
Don't know if BC supply springs in quarter & half KG steps but 4 & 3 not bad option.
I got my final springs through springcoil.co.uk after trying 5 & 4 - 4 & 3.

they come as 6 & 5s standard
if your doing a few trackdays go for 5 front and 4 rear
if just road use then as above you could use 4 fronts and 3 rears but knowing your a bit of a loon I would stick with 5 and 4s but upto you rich

that's assuming you are planning on the bc's and not any s/h ones we have in stock

Bob's s/h Ohlins given a clean up & fitted with some decent springs-tophats would be good/rebuildable & bit cheaper than BC .
