yeah your right Leighton its .5

thing is you say you pulled the actuator pipe off and it still only hit .3 boost which rules your actuator out the equasion unless the wastegate penny was flapping open and maybe the actuator arm had come off the peg (rotten e clip)

that kind of narrows it down to turbo not spooling as it should assuming theres no big cracks around the wastegate penny!
so if I were you I would get it checked out if your not sure on the impellor being too tight

Is hitting 0.378. With the pipe pulled off or on. I assumed it may be a soft spring in the actuator.

The e clip and the rod were secure.

Regards to the turbo I do not know how to check it out.
I checked for cracks though was fine

Also checked for movement and play seems solid.but seems tight when spining not sure?

Going to recheck all the vacuum hoses for splits or cracks. Remove the dump valve try it on another car

Also I'm going to test the actuator with a pump again

Argh pain lol

its 100% not the actuator that's causing the prob otherwise with pipe disconnected it would have run unlimited boost even if it was weak, it simply cant operate with pipe dis-connected

the only other thing other than turbo is a huge boost leak somewhere
you should have checked / removed the dump valve to try before removing the turbo then if that was ok and all boost pipes secure then has to be the tubby causing the problem

Yes i only did a quick visual check Sad

But my friend said that a huge boost leak we would have heard it straight away !

If It was the dump valve or any vacuum

And on that basis we cracked on lol

Do you know the pipe going to the actuator in a standard car where would it go the other end. Currently It's going to the EBC solenoid

Yes I understand that going to the solenoid is correct but where would it go if it was standard...the hose going to the actuator the other end where does it connect?

Those diagrams you sent of the vacuum mate.. Slightly confused I think one of my pipes still goes through that restrictor to the dump valve I believe..

And that solenoid is still connected to the. InTake pipe but. The other end is not connected to the actuator, think goes back up towards the plenum not sure.

I think I need to take some pictures. And upload them

Should there be any hose going to the restrictor pipe?

Solenoid strapped. Hose goin to actuator.

I can't understand why you have the standard solenoid still connected up and what looks like a manual Dawes device (strapped to the strut brace) connected as well ???

I would take the standard solenoid out then connect the Dawes device up on its own to see what happens then?

Also the vac pipe from the FPR is T-pieced as well but can't see where it goes so that would concern me especially for running lean.

I also think the carbon canister needs to be removed to make it less cluttered as well.

You can't go wrong if you follow the diagrams that Leighton linked previously in this thread.
