snapped bolt.

After fitting the new samco hoses I coukd still hear a hissing noise and every so often had a small puddle of water under the car.
Put the camera behind the engine and saw it dripping from around the housing that the coolant sensor bolts into.
So took the plenum off yet again and noticed one of the bolts was loose.
Tightened it up and the fucking thing snapped
So now I have to figure out how to extract the fucking thing with hardly any room between the engine and bulkhead.

This car is testing my patience to say the least.

Unless you got lucky and it sheared leaving the shank loose, you might be able to turn it abit with a magnet?
But tbh, i can inly think of drilling the twat out which is an engine out job,
Maybe an angled drill might fit?

Just lately it's been nothing but hassle mate.
I'm not dropping the engine out.
I did think of one of those bendy drills. Sure my brother has one. I will ask.
If I cant get the drill in I will remove the engine mounts and jack the engine up to try and get better access.
Probably have to disconnect the gearbox and props shaft tho.

How much space do you have to drill it?

Hmmmm, is it flush with the head? Can you cut a groove in it with a small die grinder dremmel type tool, so you can get a stumpy flat blade screw driver on it? Apply a bit of heat to it before turning with screw driver.. That's a liquid gasket seal so the threads may have a bit of sealant on from previous install..

That's a bummer mate, cut a hole in your fire wall and work from inside the car or maybe not!

That sucks mate. I would try the dremmel option and see if you can get a groove in it. If you need to drill it out i recently brought a 90 drill attachment, was cheap as shit like $10 and gives you heaps more room to drill.

Right angle drill on flee bay, snap a drill bit so it's short and drill it, then get easy out to remove bolt. Was going to suggest the right angle air drills we have at work but just found out there a grand    I am assuming you have a compressor.

If you can borrow a welder stu .... put a blob of weld on the flush stud it will heat up the stud and use a pair of grips or pliers to undo it .... or put a nut on it and weld the centre of the nut onto the stud and undo it with a socket ...... you dont need to be an expert welder to do it either ....

I'm just looking for a cheapish angle drill so I can get I to it to drill the bolt.
Theres probably 10 inches between the bolt and bulkhead.
I have just seen those attachments woody. Nice and cheap but wasn't sure about having to hold that and the drill at the same time. Might be a bit of a mission with where it is?
I did think about maybe putting a flat blade screwdriver on it and whacking it with a hammer lol knowing my luck I would Crack the block tho haha
I will pop in the hardware shop tomorrow and see what they have.
Maybe a flexi cable attachment would be okay?

I dont have a compressor mate

Thing with drilling at it in the small space you got is getting it spot on doesnt take much to go off centre and drill down the side of it and fook the oe thread up ....

i used the 90 attachment for the first time the other day and it was easier than I thought, certainly feels you have to use a lot more pressure than what you would with a normal drill. If you can get one of those air tools cheap you'd be silly not to go with one of those instead.

Just ordered an attachment so will give that a go first.

Thanks neil its helped me out of trouble a few times with that method .... everybody should have a welder ... its one of the most useful tool to have i say one i have 3 welders

^ yep I love my welder, made some right handy tools over the years that's got me out the poop!!

Nomads blob of weld idea is a good one.
reckon Burrows idea of grinding small slot in stud could work too.
as bolt was loose before snapping it should unscrew easy enough once have something to turn it .
