I haven't got an R yet but will hopefully be learning how to remove the head off one, got one wheel to finish stripping ready for powdercoat and no doubt I will be out listening to the chatter of my new sheepdog Wink

I have so much to do I would rather not think about it . . .

Finish messing about with my rear arches
Fit suspension
Remove the Lockwood dials loom
Full service
Fit new rad
Fit new FMIC
Fit new turbo elbow
Fit oil cooler

But all I'll probably do is sort my arches out and get them in primer, remove my rad etc, fit turbo elbow and FMIC pipewprk but i am waiting for my braided turbo lines. Oh and the fun game of lining up my rear bumper with my new arches

Got some new(to me anyway) seats to fit and try and squeeze and evo airbox into my new i/c & air filter pipe run somehow. Also want to try and get my sparrow slicer fed cold air feed back in again as it fouled the new intercooler piping.

ive just dropped mine off at the body shop to have my arches done

Bought some Corbeau gt's off wrc.Have given them a quick wash with my sparkly new pressure washer(I am washing everything in sight with it) and will swap the subframes over 1st as I have some better ones in the garage.

Not to bad then mate least you havnt got to fook about fabricating some frames then . best way mate nothing worse than doig a job on a car and getting smothered in shit and grease before you get anything done

Do you have any instructions with the forge fmic?I remember fitting mine about 11 years ago and there was a bit of cutting to do with an angle grinder.A bit near the n/s headlight and the bumper brace IIRC.One of the bolts on the turbo outlet is a pain too if you don't have a ratcheting spanner.

No instructions, luckily it already had one fitted so I was swapping over the pipes as the one I had was blue silicone and on the car was red but I dont like red and all the other pipes were blue so thought I would tidy it up Sad but its a long job, yer there is a bit of cutting on the ns headlight might need to do a bit more as it was tight, then the bumper brace

I've swapped most of my silicones for stainless steel now.Got them off ebay from Pirahna products, about £12 per bend. They need to be washed out 1st though as still had swarf from being cut inside them.
I replaced the one off the turbo(had to swap the cool forge one as it didn't fit the gt3071), the one near n/s headlight and where the cold side piping comes up i reused the chopped forge turbo outlet to come up at 90 degrees in fron of the rad and then into a 3">2.5" reducer into a 16" long 3" stainless pipe housing a z32 element, another 3">2.5" reducer and into the inlet plenum.
I also bought a couple of 3" 45 degree bends off them to make the new air intake and it looks far too good for me to have made it, with a nice fat K&N on the end.Can get a lot nicer bends and larger filter in with no maf taking up space.

That sounds very interesting,

Would it be possible to get some pictures of it when you have finished it all? does seem like a a good idea getting a hard pipe run sorted.

Nothing is ever easy.Got the passenger side in, had to drill an extra hole in the subframe for the seat belt clasp but the drivers side subframe I have is a bit different from the ones that came on the seat(made from standard rail) and I needed to make a bracket for it.Luckily I don't throw useful stuff away so fished out some angle iron that is supposed to be holding up the oven in the kitchen but my 8mm drill bit decided it would rather just spin aorund on the spot than actually you know...drill so that's stopped play for today.I'll try and get a decent bit tomorrow and crack on.
I could have just left the frames that came with the seats on, but the cobra ones I had already are a lot beefier and seats need as strong a base as possible imo.

Whats everyone got planned for this weekend and the r? - Page 2 IMG_0146

Using a pipe with a longer leg I managed to clear the exhaust manifold by greater distance than with the forge pipe on, so less heatsoak.Unfortunatley it had snapped the wires going into my egt probe Sad.

Whats everyone got planned for this weekend and the r? - Page 2 IMG_0168

The bit of pipe near the radiator is the old forge outlet from the turbo, chopped off at the part it reduces.By pure luck it left it at just the right 90 degree angle I needed to connect up to the solid z32 maf pipe I bought off Danny. Its still got the exhaust lagging and foil blanket from when it was over the exhaust manifold.I ordered some more lagging off ebay yesterday to do all the exposed stainless pipework and it came this morning(not bad for free delivery), then I'll cover the lagging with more foil backed blankets that I have kicking about.

That looks like a nice setup think i will stay more old skool and leave the z32 were it is, what turbo are you running these days?

My idle has come down now I've sorted out the pipework and it still runs when pipes pop off too as I found I took it for a little shakedown, so some benefits to blowthrough. Not sure about the throttle response yet, have barely driven it plus it will need a remap anyway now.

I have a gt3071 in now but its only at 1.45 bar. Will be getting it mapped for more soon, 1st need swirl pot and bosch 044 fitting and cams dialled in.The guy
who is going to do it was surprised at the noise my engine was making at tickover, kind of a "wob wob wob wob" and said it did sound like too much overlap which is what I thought was causing my turbo to spool a bit slow for my liking.

all little thinks be good once there ironed out, are you looking to max the turbo out or a good solid figure as its already 400 ponies, yer the blow through has some good benefits

Bob, I managed ot get one thanks.

Shroom, may as well max it out and see what it can do.I'd love it to spool faster though, max torque at 4k rpm would be nice.
