think you've got that the wrong way round

with clutches you get what you pay for, cheapness results in more expense

Your HP figures are wrong, did you mean you have 310hp@flywheel and 250hp@ the wheels?

Its the torque rating on the clutch thats important .... also do you plan on more power etc ?

Westy1991

Westy1991

oh ryt sorry yeah ive never been the brightest spark. And no im not planning on running anymore power if i do it would only be upto 320-330bhp i would of thought, because realisticly ive not got the money to forge the engine and uprate the gearbox to run more power reliably. So it will probably just stay as it is. Whats the best cheapest clutch i can do to do the job properly if anyone can recommend a decent supplier??

exedy is ok, i have one but makes a horrible noise when cold and a pretty heavy pedal, cant really do much powerwise as its near the limit for the torque so you might need to find something better if you have 310hp

well i spoke to a woman from exedy europe today and they said they could supply one for £280 a stage one organic clutch so dont know wether to go for that. What do you lot think will it last long? and be able to transfer the power okay ? Thanks for all your help again guys http://www.exedy.co.uk/en/sports/vehicles/nissan/pulsar-sunny-gti-r-rnn14-1991-1994/organic-sports-pulsar-sunny-gti-r-rnn14/

I would think your on the limit there if i was you mate save yourself abit more money up and get a better rated clutch ....its the sort of job you want to only do once are you going to be fitting it yourself ?

Arnt HELIX meant to be best for money & have a good torque rating?

Ive got an AP 4 paddle & cant fault it bit is abit snatchy & juddery if you don't give it enough revs when setting off

No id like to have a go at it but I haven't got the time or the skills, but my mate is going to do it for around £200 - £250 as he's a mechanic so I'd rather get it done properly or not at all. Is the helix a paddle clutch then nomad or a organic plate. Because I'm not sure what torque my car is apart from its running 1.1 bar of boost maximum if you can tell anything off that.

exedy will do for your power as would Helix, another option is CC clutches from Edd at Fusion.
The stage 2 or 3 would be good choices pending on usage & any future power plans.
http://www.fusion-motorsport.co.uk/shop.html?page=shop.browse&category_id=26
If you use your car on the road mainly don't get big ideas about paddle clutches as not the best option & many people soon get bored of them or possible standard gearbox issues that can arise from them & a bad driver.
Choose wisely & be aware spending little extra on good clutch choice & strengthening release arm is all worthwhile for minimal extra cost.

Yeah I completely understand what your saying. So the exedy will be fine with the power then but will it last a long time as it will only get used 2 to 3 times a week I would of thought I just don't want it to start slipping again soon?

I'm running an exedy organic and has been ok for the last 3/4 years running 255hp/265lbft. When I bought me mine it was rated at 350hp but did not state torque? Technically though that stage 1 exedy is not strong enough as @ 1.1bar you will see around 270/280 lbft.
