Should be easy & in for early tea :-)
only trouble area being downpipe if fixings seized & play up.
If not on a ramp or pit the rear pipe that goes over suspension is a pain as need space(height) to curl pipe into position. Crack on Fred ...

Razz , thanks Mr.B! but i have 1 hour between 1pm and 2pm to begin the removal!

i'm afraid of the rusty bolts but the will brake for sure!! yes, for sure the 3 bolts at the turbo elbow/downpipe will be difficult to remove.....finger crossed!

What a shitty thing to do Mad...

catback is undone, all bolts came well, rear silencer too, but the catback.....impossible to pass through the rear subframe...i lift her with 2 jacks, one on the front part of a sill, and the othr under the rear diff....
2 solutions....first is to bring the car to a friend who has a big ramp, or secondly, cut the exhaust...Sad

you can do it off a jack but youll need to get the car at a 45degree angle to allow the pipe to swing out the way its a bit naughty though as the car is very unstable so do not lay underneath it in case it slips.
far easier and safer to do it on a lift fred.

So i cut it!! I had no disc on my grinder...so i took the hacksaw....mouaaaahhahahaha

Really hard thing to do it has hurt my little arms!!

New thing i noticed....i wanted to move my car so start it up, pass the 1st gear, move, turn and .....try to pass the reverse head and impossible....hard hard hard...after removing the fooking back exhaust, i started up one more time and go for a 200m trip to come back...i passed 2 gears, and then stop. Then i arrived smoothly to pass the reverse...

Any idea about this problem?

So what your saying is you tried to put it in reverse after removing the exhaust and it wouldn't go into reverse gear?

im not knowledgable on gearboxes but it could be a selector problem or a weak detent spring on 5th and reverse selector
next time it happens see if the car selects 5th ok
could also be a worn linkage on the gearshift itself

Ok, i'll try to look at this under at mid-day!

mid-day jobby will be :
- downpipe drop!
so WD40 will be my friend again....i hope to not destroy the turbo elbow bolts...

about the mongoose catback, will it be difficult to put it in place?? as hard as the genuine one was to get it out??

It still needs to go over the rear subframe so pretty much the same procedure

ok, but there is many elbow on the back of the genuine one, that's why it's hard to pass, but on the mongoose, the shape is more simple (but pipe is larger....)...so it may need less hight to pass...i just ask before trying and begin to be mad (like yesterday i was before taking the hacksaw Twisted Evil !)

still need height to curl pipe into position. never done one off a jack but expect it hassle.
Surprised Mongoose didn't take that into consideration when designing it.
Some elbow bolts are easy some are not, hope the WD40 don't let you down :-)

the downpipe is a down pipe Cool
1 bolt was already broken, the 2 other were hard to untight but the longest thing to do was to explose the OE downpipe protection to have access to the nuts!

just need to undo the central silent block and remove the earth wich is between the shell and the exhaust. (may i need to put it back on the new exhaust?? is it useful?)

Well, the new downpipe is on, silent decat too.

the catback doesn't go with the jacks, so i need definately a lift to put it on... Mad

i still have the problem witht the gearbox to pass the reverse...don't know exactly what it is.

before starting the engine, i had the reverse on. i passed on the neutral, and started the engine...after that, impossible to engage the reverse.
it's really anoying....as bob said, i tried to pass the 5 and it goes. it is the 3 wich is impossible to engage...

any more idea?

Breaking news :
catback is on!!! i cut it and use to wide collars and a ss plate i formed around the pipe to get them together and to avoid any leak. Sure it's not a perfect way, but it works, no leak, no problems!!

about my gearbox problem, yesterday i started up the engine and left it at idle to warm it up. no more troubles about gearchange....
i don't know why, but i presume the worn box + cold oil = troubles on gear change....

Hi all, so little news about the car,

this weekend i've fix the passenger seat as 2 little parts of the metallic basis were unwelded. rather then weld, as i'm not a welder, i've drilled 4 holes and put some screws to tighten that all together.
the back of the seat is still moving a bit too much because of a play in the hinge i think....

Twisted Evil and i put a rear whiteline strutbrace. first i repainted the mountings as the blue was not so good and part missing...

here some picture of the exhaust (wich is a mongoose exhaust as all on here have one!!)

thanks mate!! it goes on, not as the speed i hope but it goes on!!

actually the Hole in the bumper is much bigger and not centered as the standard one, that's one i need a new one!!
Alloy plate painted riveted is ugly!

next job will be to undo the front struts to send them for a rebuild, and undo the front rh side hub to change the wheel bearing...tomorrow mid-day jobby!!!! Very Happy

i'm waiting for the superforma spacers, they are on the way to me (they'll arrive tomorrow i think cheers ), so i hope to try the enkei as soon as they arrive...

after that they'll go to the anodizer to have a proper job done...(i think about Black or red about the color...but not sure about that..what do you think?)

i'll try to see if the hispec 310mm suits behind too, i hope so...
