I would check ecu temp sensor & connector/wiring harness as I seen them bad causing serious over-fueling on hot start & also can keep fans running like other fault you reported .

Did you change/ modify anything on the harness while it was out? Just making sure, so we know that it was untouched.

Spark plug spike

The red connector is the Ecu temp sensor, a bit of a fiddly job to change in situ but can be done.

Or it could be this fault that somebody else had and solved?

If you unplug temp sensor it runs in fault mode.
You best first off doing a fault code check just to see if throws up something useful.
You then could remove temp sensor & test it in some hot water with a thermometer & multimeter, want check harness/connector feed voltage contact condition etc. You could bridge the terminals on harness with 2000ohm resistor which would give ecu value of below 20degC so fans should be off & should start ok in sensible ambient climate. New sensor not expensive & can be had from £6 to £12 or grab some from junk yard as they used in loads of nissans.
