I'm assuming it's starter motor related but got the engine fully back in this evening, fluids etc went to crank it and absolutely nothing, not a click suicide

Last Saturday before I took the engine out it worked, thinking a cable had popped off it I stuck the endoscope down there and both are on.

I've ruled out immobiliser as fuel pump works and not touched anything to do with that.

The thing I'm really cheesed about is for the second time in 3 weeks I've put the Y bracket back on censored so now getting to the starter is going to be a mare!!

Is there anything else I can check first? Am I right in thinking a wire from battery goes to ignition then to starter nothing inbetween?

Gaz

The big main live goes straight from battery to starter, and yep, you're correct there is the wire that goes from the ignition switch to the starter solenoid, it could just be a bad connection mate, have you checked the main earth between battery and thermostat housing?

Need to make a tool to hook round it and pull it on can't get my spade like hand down there, looks as though I've snagged the loom and pulled it free nearly, maybe just not making a connection with the grease stuff to stop water ingress that's over the connectors.

I'm hoping it's just that anyway!

Bit bored in work watching the apprentice fook the galv job! Got thinking of how I can get the loose plug back on the starter without dropping the engine or stripping things down, so decided to make myself a reach around tool Laughing

Should be able to pull the loose plug on easy Laughing even has a handy handle.  Already started thinking of modifying it, if I thread the end I can make multiple attachments thumbsup

Think this is going to be my favourite tool now Laughing
