Not starting :(

so went to start my car and all i get is this sound

doesnt seem to be sparking anyone have any ideas?

Noticed my avcr flickers on and off while its cranking but spark plugs are not sparking, it did start for a sec then died again

right if it started for a few secs then died chances are that you do have a spark

you need to remove plugs and put them in leads then try cranking it and hold the plug so the side is ground to earth, if you then get someone to crank the engine over you can watch to see if the spark is jumping.

if so then remove the fuel pipe to fuel rail and see if fuel is spurting out whilst you crank engine but make sure you hold a bowl or container so fuel does not go everywhere

if you have both fuel and a spark then it could just be dampness in dizzy cap ect so dry them all out and water seal them with wd40 or similar
also when you put the plugs back in heat them up over a cooker hob or blowtorch because they may be flooded then it will start up much easier

thanks for the reply bob, called the aa as i forgot i had breakdown turns out the engine was flooded, removed and cleaned plugs which were fouled, guy hooked it to the booster and tested spark which was fine so he cranked it on the booster and it fired up, car has been sitting for a week while i was doing some work on it and i started it yesterday and instantly switched it off (silly really now i think about it) so it was put down that, working fine now thankfully, thought i maybe blew something while i was sorting some wiring issues during the week

waterseal the dizzy and all electrical connections seeing as winter is on the horizon, damp can cause havoc then as said you have a flooded engine so worth doing for piece of mind
