Hi all,I have a problem with my clutch pedal I've bled the system and I get a good hard resistance, but on the pedal's return back up it stops short of reaching the top and I manually have to lift it with my foot!the car has had a new clutch fitted(AP Racing,so I know it's going to be abit harder to press, and the car did this before the new clutch was fitted!)plus the biting point is very very low down about an inch I'd say!i don't have a wet carpet I can't see any leaks.....any ideas?cheers

Bill's was like that and it was the clutch fork. His was the middle part indent or rocker bit that had split. You can easily check by pulling the rubber boot away and shine a torch in to check if it's ok . As you look at the engine it pushes through rigt to left so look down the left hand side for breaks or splits

Mine just stuck on the way back up. Was rusty in behind boot of slave. But the biting point bit was my next thing to say sounds like exact problem bill had with clutch fork. I was on the phone to darren (bones) at the time as he was checking things and he spotted it

Before you do anything else
Try adjusting the rod from the clutch master (underside of pedal box) so in other words loosen the locknut and extend ithe rod which will give you a further pedal travel, sometimes the locknut can come loose and pedal travel gets worse so worth checking that first

Cheers bob I'll check it out mate, another thing is with the slave cylinder when it comes into contact with the clutch fork should there be something there for it to sit in or does it just push up against it?

Been meaning to look at this but had a lot on at work, done abit of work on the rear calipers(bleed nipples, rear caliper springs ect).when it comes to adjusting the master cyliner rod(as bob suggested)I loosen the nut,but my question is once the nut is loose....can I just spin the bar?or do I need to take the clip out, pull the small bar out(part attached to the pedal)?I was thinking more doing it the first way.cheers

Once the locknut is loose the rod that goes from the master cylinder you can just unscrew which basically lengthens the rod which then gives you more travel at the slave cylinder end
