Nothing ever stayed standard for long especially the many 4x4's i've had

Fookin hell, you've had more motors than i've had hot dinners My R is the fifth car and was the first to be modified.

Why so many??

dunno always changing them i suppose but not so much lately
.Thing is i always have 3 or 4 cars at any time
At the mo i've got the pulsar an evo and a 306 cabby and hopefully 2moz will be adding a mondeo to the fleet .
At one point i had an x trail , shogun sport , frontera , landcruiser and an fto all at the same time

Don't know why i had the need for four 4x4's i just did

Is the red escort an xr3i. .... I had one. ..totaly rebuilt it from scratch was rapid had an rs bodykit. .. Then i got bored with it bought a renault 5 gt then went back to ford got a rs turbos2 spent fortunes ..... Ive had a few myself from astra mk2 gte to chavaliers. silvia turbo. nova gsi . Suzuki swift i had it chipped was a little pocket rocket last time i counted i was around the 20 mark that is in 14yrs though.

The red escort in the first two pics is the same car ..
Started of as a 1.3 ohv and i converted it to a 1.8 diesel . and then fitted all the kit from a xr3i . was a sexy motor slammed on 17's
If out of all the cars i've had i could have one back it'd be this one ....

ive got a few years on you so have had a lot of cars as you can imagine (werent in the car game then though funnily enough it was just a hobby at the start)
had a lot of 60s-70-80's stuff then started up doing car restorations in late 80s after jacking in being a spread and focusing on cars
thats when i started buying real interesting stuff

then theres vans and the like which i was into big time especially the old bedford cf vans and mk1 transits, then mk1 escort vans that i used to fit with rover v8s then customise all the interior.
was a big thing in the late 70s and early 80s lol

funny thing is i wasnt really into jap stuff at all, back then it was just cheap n nasty crap for people that couldnt afford a proper car, the jap stuff wasnt that well established and only in the early stages of making a name, toyota were really the forerunners with the early celica which they based on the mustang looks

somewhere i have pics of all of them from when i bought them, pics of build (but gave them to new owners when sold on) and when they were finished

thats just some that ive owned restored and sold on over the years

I am in the motor trade but they have all been my personal cars ..
Treat it like a hobbie and get bored easily

Thats some heavy spec list bob rs500 whailtail cossie has allways been one of my dream cars to own although the price of them now il doubt it will be in my grasp every year they seem to go up n up good investment. . why land cruisers rob?

Land cruisers are like andrex, they fetch good money. Chopped one up recently to fit the engine in a forklift.....the forklift was petrol and now with the lancruiser fitted goes like feck!

have a big following and are simply the BEST 4x4 you can buy ..
Alot of them go abroad because the uk is the cheapest place to buy a landcruiser on this side of the plannet ..
Most go to europe and sold plenty that went to africa

Ive never really been into that kind of scene but i know a few people ditched performance cars and got into off roading as a hobby. aslong as it Brings in the wedge thats all that matters

I love off roading thats why there is a few pics of my offroady beasts ..
Only problem is offroading in a big landcruiser can be scary if you get to close to somthing
i.e a tree ..
.especially if you like to try and keep it shiny

I can imagine lol you could always try wrapping it with bubble wrap not sure why ive never really got into i guess for me its all the opposites from what ive always done with modifying like lowering big exhausts nice wheels getting it to go fast as possible where as off roading is so much the other way i. Sure if i gave it a go id love it.

i was gonna get one of those a while back but kinda forgot all about it

Are they the 300s like the bentleys i know somebody who has one they go well and are comfy think they are alot of car for little money he took me out in it he uses it for posh clients lol

300C was a good motor . Drove well , quite good on fuel 30mpg . Handled alright considering the size of it .. tyre were expensive because of the size
I loved the size and the style of it ..
Interior is very american and plastic tho .
Never liked the leather / Top half fake wood steering wheel
Loved the BIG GRILL



But the steering wheel was horrible

I drove one of them 300c's in the states and they must have a different suspension setup over there as it was quite frankly the worst car i have ever driven, felt like it was gonna roll when going round corners any faster than 30mph, and when you floored it the auto box kicked down, engine maid more noise then it would shift up after a bit and slowly pick up speed. an your right about the interior rob its all plasticky and american. personally i didn't like it much at all!!!

Well i can now add another car to the fleet .. bought an 06 plate mondeo tdci estate on thursday as our sensible car

Rob, have you had any experience with hilux surf's?

i know cam belts are a doddle to do on them

I think my boss had one pete .. if so il ask him about it he has a hilux truck d4d at the minute only went wrong on it so far after 4years was the air bag clock bihind the steering wheel was the ribbon inside wich we managed to sort it anyway .

Wont be getting anything that new Leighton Do like the new ones as a colleague in work has one. Only looking to spend about £2K. If i find one and it needs a cam belt ill book that in with you then Bob
