I noticed tonight the car will only blow smoke on idle and not when you're driving it. Had the car out for a spin earlier had no boost only to about .1 and car only smoked when I stopped for traffic lights ect. No dumpvalve noise either.

What sort of dump vale you got
A recirc could cause it and as would still meter air flow well car run pretty good besides no boost.
even a working dumpvalve won't be making much noise with couple psi boost .
Just do basic visual checks, the plugs will tell you what it burning (water, oil or excessive fuelling . also give you pretty quick idea on engine health)
Have good visual on dump vavle and all plumbing for any sort of leak issue that likely be worse once warm and under bit of intake pressure .
Turbo and actuator wants very good visual and basic function inspection hot and cold .

I have a Sard r2d2 bov on it and tried my hks one on it and the car was still the same. I'm going to check the plugs now shortly today. Had a quick look under the car earlier and there was some oil stains around where the housing bolts to the turbo. Not crazy amount but you could definitely tell there was oil there.

No big drama if it is the turbo, pretty straight forward sort .
Have fun wrenching ... good luck .

Finally got the old turbo off and a chunk of the housing near the penny had snapped off and got stuck and was stopping the penny from closing properly. Never heard of that happening before.

Yeh I was expecting housing cracked, was it also loosing oil direct from housing into exhaust then ?
They pretty much all have crack or 2 around wastegate flap, not super common for chunk fall out but seen some cracked so bad leaking fluids etc .

The chip had lodged itself in the penny and turbo stopping the wastegate from fully closing. Doesn't seem to be any oil stains on it so I reckon the seals had shit themselves. Car pulls crazy hard now with the brand new turbo, way harder than it ever did.
