I sealed round the corner of the r/c by the dizzy and it stayed oil free despite the abuse from the sprintday, still surprised the old girl run faultlessly. Learned that I really need to get my brake kit fitted and improve the handling!

Well finally got round to fitting the turini bumper
Moley's R - Page 5 IMAG0300_zps0e760b69
But I've come across a problem, it won't go on with the crash bar in place. Do you have to remove this?

looks so much better mate and been a long time in coming, afraid cant help, but without the support bar how are you meant to fit the bumper. Does it have the push in clips as per the standard bumpers in the middle?

No mark its just held by the headlight and along the arches, I will reinforce it as well I reckon. Think I'm gonna trim the crash bar as its made of two skins, I lined the bumper up and marked the bar ready. This year or next I'm gonna have to get it resprayed as I'm finding more rust patches Crying or Very sad Evil or Very Mad

Cheers wocka, bumper now shows up the rest of the old tired paintwork Embarassed
Yeah mark couldn't find any threads about it? Just my luck really, anything I do to the R is never straight forward Rolling Eyes
Rust wise, both rear arches are bubbling which started last year but today found a big spot low down on passenger side door. Also got some very small spots on the bonnet. On removal of the front bumper the cross member has some surface rust. Got to love an old rust bucket Laughing

Well been a productive weekend, finally got round to giving the old girl attention as had loads of other things to do. Glad it got a look over today whilst replacing my rocker gasket as found 2 split pipes on the breather system; could explain the puff of blue smoke the other night Suspect
Going to clean up the I/c and do a few little adjustments and she should be ready for the RR day Very Happy

Why do I leave everything to the last minute Rolling Eyes  Still I am now ready after spending all day on her. Replaced the split pipe and changed the engine oil for some of that millers nanodrive so we shall see how that goes. As I had the ARC off I decided to give that some attention, should of done when I first got it Embarassed
As you can see most of the fins on the back row are bent/damaged or as I found when straightening them corroded. Decided to remove what was useless (about 4mm off the core) to try and improve airflow/efficiency.
Moley's R - Page 5 IMAG0326_zpscd78335d
This was what I removed
Moley's R - Page 5 IMAG0330_zpsf711976b
While I was at it gave it a bit of a clean and hasn't come up too bad
Moley's R - Page 5 IMAG0328_zps2d036e3b
Thinking I might enquire about how much a new one would cost to have made at the place my company uses.

I have got the grill somewhere, took it out years ago for some reason and never put it back in.

I meant on the bumper the grill a bumper were a one part construction could possibly why you have problem fitting it

Oh right, this is how I bought it, I thought all these bumpers were like this? Its the mould of the spotlight that catches the crash bar, so ill have to trim the crash bar slightly.
