So for the last  couple of months it seems I have a weekend job now working on the Pulsar ready for the show season.

How is everyone else getting on have you been doing any major work on your R not mentioned?

I think the best thing I have done is pluck the courage up to start looking into my mess of a loom and get it re wired and sorted. After about 5 hours I was happy that everything was connected back up and managed to salvage the old SAFC loom which did most of the damage (scotch locks and someone steeling the thing and trying to pull out the wiring)

The R has just had its MoT and has finally got its Hispec 4 pot brakes put on so I can actually stop the thing now :-)

The worst thing I have done recently is have to replace the turbo in the winter and then fit last month to then take straight off as I didnt tighten the banjo on the tubby enough and it was weeping slightly. Its now been on and off 5 times in the last year and a half changing elbows etc lol so im glad I wont be doing that again anytime soon and luckily for me its completely stopped my smoking issue now so I wont be creating smoke clouds on my entrance to silverstone like last time.

You have been a busy boy Tom lol
I never stop working on mine. Theres always something that needs replacing.
I need to sort the stem seals on mine. Smokes in the morning but clears after a short drive.
Mot is due so I need to book it in.
I need to fit the evo brakes and clio disks when I can be bothered. Just put some new pads on for the mot so no rush.

Im sure yours will go through without any issues with all the love you habe given it recently, you have been poorly too so im sure you cant wait to get it all sorted. At least yours looks awesome now mine is half sanded down lol im a bit obsessed with sanding.

I thought my valve stems had gone as the car smoked just revving it and if I went on a long run as soon as I slowed or pulled up it would plume blue smoke out. Tbh I thought it could be engine but Pulsar Yoda Bob gave me some pointers.

After a compression test and removal of the turbo to check ports for oil and also the valves I could see nothing so although I had already replaced a turbo a few months ago it shows its not always worth buying second hand units as this one smoked after a few hundred miles leading me to believe it was the engine. Ater getting a genuine new turbo and re fitting it has been perfect now not a bit of smoke from cold or hot as I followed my Dad for about 40 miles in it giving it a blast.

Thanks Bob! Next will need to get down to your for the head to be shimmed and setup on the rollers. Bob could have had the car down with him last year to diagnose the issues and I was happy to pay as I was fed up but after explaining what to do and what to check he helped me out no end for nothing, true gent.

Once run in He's getting it mapped to 400hp (well around there)

I see you're as fast as me lol! I've thought you were fitting those brakes for last mot lol!

I'm trying to fit/finish my forged engine for last 3 years... I've got all the bits now just need to bolt the head down and get cams dialled in and then find long weekend to fit it... Once I'll finish other mates cars.....

I remember you going through it all and replacing the turbo to try and find the fault.
Atleast now it's done so you can move onto the next job Smile
I will gt mine sorted one day lol might even attempt to change the valve stem seals myself hahaha
