I removed the TMIC rear right support a while ago and while I was in there thought I would have a go at the Y bracket too...although what I removed definitely wasn't Y shaped by any means. There isn't anything else lurking under the inlet manifold and this peice is hasn't been butchered or fab'd up so I can only assume it's OE from Nissan.
Anybody seen this non-Y shaped Y bracket before? It's a new one in me Suspect

There are 4 brackets on a back of intake. 2 on right the infamous Y bracket and one on the left. This looks like one from right hand side (passenger).

That is a topmount intercooler bracket, the 'y' bracket is between the transfer case output and the bottom of the plenum chamber. It generally cannot be withdrawn with the engine in the car unless the plenum is removed.

I removed my y bracket with engine in situ i didnt remove the plenum either its tight but just about squeeze it out ..

This bracket was bolted to the same location as the intercooler mount at the rear right (I took off this mount at same time). There isn't any other brackets under the inlet manifold at all so I guess I lucked out there! My last one definitely didn't have this mystery bit though, hence the question...
Anyone want a non-Y bracket for their collection? Very Happy

Bracket in picture goes down to block bellhousing end and the top single bolt is shared with the y bracket top y arm that side under the manifold (bolt goes in tapped hole on side of manifold), obviously y had been removed but this one left for support which not bad idea .
Don't throw them away as original purists will be wanting them if you don't .

ah ok, that makes more sense now, thanks guys. I've no intention of putting it back on the car as I can now reach up behind the manifold to the black vacuum box, even with the TMIC on. Should make swapping the knock sensor out easier too albeit with a bit of a stretch (as/when I need to!)
i'll add it to my pile of stuff that's been removed  Very Happy
