Right I'm putting the finishing touches under the bonnet ..

And I need some firm confident answers as to the right way to do it

Pcv valve  .  Plenum is blanked . What do I do with Pcv valve?
Breather on rocker cover next to distributor .  Should I get it fed back into intake?  Or into a catch can . What's better?

Blue or green anti freeze ?
What power steering fluid do I put in?

How much gearbox oil ?
How much transfer oil ?

Colour ain't important can depend on make but it's difference between oat and iat antifreeze  but most manufactures it's blue for older engines. Some say this don't matter it would take a few year to damage but basically it's eating your block from inside out as if the chemicals ain't in the anti corrosive anti freeze then it try's to get it from the block to balance. Some chemical reaction /ph explanation I don't fully understand or word properly but understand in my mind enough to know it matters. Some say anti freeze and distilled water is best mix but you still need a slight bit of tap water as has certain stuff the distilled don't

Blue Antifreeze, i use CarPlan Blue Star Anti Freeze, dilute with water

Power steering fluid, Dexron II & III, I bought one from Halfords - red fluid
Think this was the one http://www.halfords.com/motoring/engine-oils-fluids/gearbox-oil/halfords-transmission-power-steering-fluid-1l

PCV:

From pcv to pipe on the fuel rail exit fuel rail pipe to metal tube linked to another metal tube, from these to throttle bodies... if that makes sense!

If you take from the right side rocker cover it would be better to keep it looped back into the induction as there is vacuum on it. If you just send it to a catch can you wont be getting any vacuum from the inlet. A lot of people don't do this but I would prefer to keep it as stock as possible as it was done for a reason.

I removed my PCV and replaced with a hollow one, I have just added a filter to it so it vents to atmosphere. Burrows looks to have the original setup but just make sure your PVC is operating as normal as sometimes they get weak and wont work only on vacuum.

Hope this helps...

Just above the drive shaft mate on drivers side. I tend to remove drivers wheel and put bottle through the big hole where tie rod end comes through at an angle straight into fill hole.

Best thing I brought lately was an oil pump, make filling in tight places so much easier.

^ That's something I need to add to my list of tools to get! Gearbox and rear diff I used a 1/2" pipe with a funnel on the end and just tipped it in, gearbox was really quick. Guess a pump would be a lot easier and little mess after!

I found the pump takes longer, but no mess. I used on the rear diff which can be tricky with a funnel

For transfer and diff this is what i have but for gearbox use a pipe and funnel.

You can also cut about 4ft from your garden hose pipe and use that to fill from above the engine. Works well for me and its free. Very Happy
