My rear arches were starting to bubble.
So i sanded them back. Treated them. Filled them. Primered them and painted and laquered them Smile
I still need to wet n dry them and then g3 paste them.
Looks a lot better than the bubbling paint Smile

Thanks guys.
I did one arch in a morning and then did the other arch the next morning. It wasnt to bad as was only surface rust in most places.
Then left it a week or so and ordered the paint and laquer.
It isnt perfect. But is 100% better Smile

I'm guessing you just re-painted a small section stu? I wish I didn't use the can on whole quarter when I did mine.

Yeah just the patches you see with primer mate. I went around the arch and didnt mask it either. So no line to try and delete lol
I will wet n dry the whole panel and then g3 it. Hopefully it will blend in enough Smile

I've seen these for pennies but not sure if they would look too small or not. What do you think?

I wet flat the arches today and the laquer line shows Sad
So i have decided to sand it back to the primer and just 2pk paint it as it doesnt need laquer so should blend in better.
Bit of a set back but hey you learn something new every day lol

You need to paint up to a swage line or do the whole panel to hide laquer lines. Use feather edge foam to go up to swage line which gives a better finish. You could light scotch right up to the bottom of the window then spray base colour to swage line then laquer up to the window to hide everything.

So this happened today Smile

my rear arches.. 20160610_120052_zpseepysykq
I painted upto the swage line and then realise i would have to laquer the whole quarter panel anyway so keyed the rest of the panel and painted it all Smile
I have done both rear quarters Smile

The thing I like about paintwork is you can just keep going back at it. Rebuild a gearbox wrong and its kaboom $$$$$ but with paint you can just flat back and start again which does cost but not that much.

Looks like you have done a good job Stu, I will be doing mine I think just to tidy it up as I feel embarrassed at the dings and scratches on it.
