My rear diff whines all the time. Is this normal or could it be a lsd?
The lad i sold the car to said he had changed the gearbox and rear diff when i bought the car back.
He said the gearbox was short ratio and rear diff was lsd but when i jad the gearbox rebuilt it was definitely not short ratio lol
I have changed the fluid in the rear diff.
It whines while driving or coasting.

Dont think mine whines, the gearbox always has done in first gear.

My mums old sierra estate had the loudest diff whine going, sounded like it was straight cut! Laughing

might be worth just checking the fluid level in the diff?

I get a whine from the rear sometimes.
But only when the missus sits in the back, usually its comes from the passenger seat.
