While Ive got my sub frame out, thought I better look at the rear diff.

I'm going to replace the drive shaft and tailshaft seals, change the oil. Anything else that I should do? or should I be stripping it down while its out?

Was there anything wrong with it prior to removal?

If not, no sense in playing with something that is working ok.

Seals yes. Otherwise, plug and play Very Happy

I don't think so, one seal looks greasy but in saying that never drove it hard when it was on the road.

I have a Nismo rear diff sitting in a box at home but thought I wouldn't install it until I have a proper front diff.

By the sounds of it, just replace the seals for now.

That will keep you going until you are ready to put in the Nismo.

Nissan still do those seals, they used on a shit load of Nissans .
Main problem is lazy c*nts at nissan parts like using the 'no longer available' as easy way out when presented with something odd like the R, UK Nissan Parts being super lazy f00kers.
If can't get them from nissan for whatever reason then any decent bearing shop or super decent motor-factors can match them from numbers you find on the seals.

Now that I've removed the diff I'm going to decrease it and give it some fresh paint. Is there something I can run through the inside of the diff to give it a good clean? Or should I just simply replace the oil and away I go.
