I am looking for around 300-330bhp and need some advice to make sure its safe as the car will be a daily driver:)
I don't want anything overkill as I have a budget.

These are my mods so far:
Uprated fuel pump
Group A downpipe
Autobahn FMIC
HKS Filter
Garret GT2860RS (Not fitted yet)
Digital Boost Gauge

This is what i am thinking of getting:
Marelli FRP
Nistune or Mines ECU, what is the preferred if the price is around the same? I guess Nistune would be best if I get a remap ?
Greddy profec b spec 2

Something else i should add to my list?
I have no idea what clutch I have, but it work ok so I will keep as long as it last.

yes a mines or similar chipped ecu would see you hit those kind of figures.
the 2860 (disco potato) will get you there very quickly too Wink

ive just sold a mines to kashua on here so you can see what he thinks of it but everyone thats fitted a chipped ecu has been more than happy with the performance and extra mid range grunt

i do have a fast track chipped ecu in stock if needed 'not as common as mines' but similar results.

cb82 on here just got 330bhp at 1.1 bar on a chipped ecu aswell and is over the moon with the performance, thats with a stock turbo.

with the 2860 you should achieve that comfortably but you really need to get the boost setup on rolling road just to make sure shes not detting with that turbo in particular

Thanks for the feedback!

As I understand, the Nistune can be mapped on rolling road and the chipped ECU is already mapped and cant me remapped?
I guess if I can get a Nistune for around the same price as a Chipped ECU i would prefer the Nistune.
OR Will is just be easier just to get a chipped ECU and then i dont have to map it...its more plug an play, right?
I might have a Nistune on my hand for an good price..

Another thing, is the 2860RS a direct fit on my Gti-R ? If not, what modifications do I need..

As for running 1.2bar, is it preferred to have an digital boost controller so I can switch from 0,7 and 1,2 ?
Or do i just leave it a 1,2 ?

Mines and ecu such like are a plug and play more a case of a standard ecu with a more wilder air and fuel map i have a spl20 ecu wich is basicly the same as a mines

Ok, so the Nistune would be a little overkill just to run around 1,2 boost ?
And also, is it recomended i use a Z32 MAF or will the oem be just fine?

i would have thought any ecu will need mapped as it would need to be tailored to your set up, a nistune goes into the standard ecu and wired to the board where as a mines will be ready to go and get mapped with no additional work done to the board. sorry if this is wrong but its just what i thought as my honda had a chipped ecu which was plug and play but still needed to be mapped on the rollers to unleash its full potential

Not at all the nistune is mapable so if you wanted to change set up or mess about then maybe its a better choice all depends what you see for the future. as digi said lutting it on the rollers will unleash full potential but thats more for your set up ie fueling etc tubby etc all depends on your budget imo the standard maf is ok you could go down the z32 route but they dont come cheap

yes it all depends on your budget at end of the day

a mines or similar plug n play ecu is non mappable so its limit will be round 320 - 330bhp which is when your stock injectors and maf will be about to max out anyway.

if you want more power than that then you need to start digging deep in your pockets as youll require a z32, larger injectors, nistune ecu, mapping costs (which arent cheap)
then youve got the added bonus of probably needing a new clutch and hoping your gearbox holds out

so in a nutshell....theres a huge price difference between the 2 types of ecu

I'm probably wrong but I'd have thought with what you've already done if you up the boost to just over 1 you'll have about 300 and the standard ecu, maf and other bits will deal with that OK. Nice cheap option and you've still got a reliable daily car..

Thanks for helping me on the right track.
As I said, this is more of a budget tuning so i leave it with std ECU or maybe a Mines or similar.

What about the GT2860RS and the FRP, do I put inn og just leave it as it is?
And is the 2860rs a direct fit ?

Will an manual boost controller work ok or should i go for an Digital with more options.

I guess I will also need a AFM Widebaand, what is recommended here for a "normal" price ?

Alot of people rate the dawes device type controller wich is obviously a cheaper option that is a manaul boost controler or i think imo the electronic is the best way allowing you to turn the boost up or down that way you dont have to be running massive bhp for popping to the shops the standard fpr is man enough to cope with the power your after and the tubby should be a direct fit although sometimes rotating the housing is required depends what it come off etc

So if am correct, I can swap to the 2860rs and STILL use the oem or mines ECU ?

Since I already bought the frp, should I just throw it in just to be safe?

What wideband are recommended ?

aem wideband or innovate are both good bits of kit and cheap to buy new now (look on ebay)
fit the fpr but get the fuelling checked
fit a mines or similar chipped ecu but once its all on there its very important to get the boost controller set at a safe level once the afr's have been looked at.

i personally would use a good electronic controller as they are less likely to spike boost
