Nice on Bob, the only trouble is I've done 2 heads in the last few months and I didn't notice that the springs had a right and a wrong way up. Rolling Eyes
Does it make a difference - and is he showing them the right way up.
His spring compressor looks a lot easier than the thing I use. Will have to see what I can get on Ebay..

i never found this link it was dan, but thought it was a great link and very in depth, so as much as i would like to take credit i just merely nicked it lol

john....yes the springs are similar to coil springs on suspension, the tighter coil part always goes at the bottom, this is to allow a progressive recoil 'if thats the correct word' of the spring.

ive never tried the springs round the other way tbh but would imagine that there is more chance of it throwing a rocker due to the weight of spring being more top heavy, but if its ok so far i wouldnt change it, maybe fit some rocker stoppers though as a safety precaution just in case!

don't do the porting yourself as its a very precise job and needs to be done to perfection and flowed correctly.
if you mess it up youll have a very unbalanced engine that will also be down on power

providing its flowed correctly and all ports are matching then it will be ok
theres a lot more than just getting a dremmel out and polishing but if you have time and patience then yes results should be ok

how do you know he is ? has it been on a flow bench ? from what i hear its as mentioned very easy to go to far its a case of knowing your stuff doing a bit flowing it check results do a bit more and knowing when to stop
