Anyone used these self brake bleeding kits before? Are they any good, I've seen a different types? I've always had someone to help me but thought I'd get one this time.

These are the different sorts ranging from $15 up to $75 for the red one. Guess I don't want to pay a lot but still want it to work well etc.

I have used the top one pictured. You connect it to a valve on a wheel and the air pressure pushes the fluid threw for you. Very handy when you are alone and need to bleed your brakes Smile

Yeah I used something similar to bleep my clutch slave

http://www.halfords.com/workshop-tools/tools/hand-tools/europat-vizibleed-brake-and-clutch-bleeding-kit

Worked well, used another kit that connected to your tyre for pressure and the fucker blew off and sprayed me in the face with clutch fluid I soon smashed that up and threw it in the bin.

Sometimes simple is better tongue

I didnt put the fluid in the container. I used it as an air compressor cylinder and just used the air to push the fluid out of the reservoir. Just made sure it didnt run dry...

pressure or suction systems can be good for problem systems with abs & airlocks.
for simple bleeding I use a homemade one man bleeder from 12" clear hose with bit of old brake line as a joiner to a bit of decent black rubber hose that tight grippy fit on the nipple & use a wire spring clip to save any mishaps of it popping off. On other end of the clear hose I have a alloy one way valve. Makes minor bleeding a no hassle job, still tend use 2 people as it quicker & you can see exactly how it bleeding & complete a front & rear quickly.

I simply put a vac hose around nipple and the other end in a jar with some brake fluid and pump away job done, if the end is submerged in fluid it won't let air back in.

Basically same as what I do but with a one way valve as you get less reverse flow between pedal strokes & with a valve it helps create flow cycle when lot of air in the system.

Be careful I have an ezibleed on of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gunson-G4062F-G4062-Eezibleed-Kit/dp/B001KTFIWA

It works fine for my fabia but it didn't have the right size cap for the pulsar so I had to use a couple of blocks of wood hillbilly style when I had to bleed mine.

I used this one today. Easy as and worked really well

After having all the calipers removed I brought 3 bottles of fluid because I thought there would be no fluid left in the lines. Only end up using 1 full bottle.

Im looking at investing in one of these:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brake-and-Clutch-Fluid-Bleeding-System-Bleed-UA-Kit-Sealey-VS820-Bleeder-Tool-/401093090111?hash=item5d6302db3f:g:6l4AAOSwu1VW8ZR7

Dont know how effective it will be on a completely dry system though.... Plus her golf and my tranny need doing so probably might be worth it..

I have used a few types in the past but I've just bought the one way ball bearing type off eBay. Very cheap and it worked perfectly so I'll be sticking with that. And only one person needed to operate just keep an eye on your fluid level obviously
