Hi everyone just wondering if this has been done before I've been looking at TD05 hybrids and td06 turbo units, thinking of using a greddy emanage Ecu aswell lets us know your thoughts please I've got a friend that can weld a flange and modify the decat for me Smile

Don't see why not providing you can get the manifold adapted ! Not sure how much room there will be though as the 3071r has to be moved slightly because it catches on the bulkhead. Like I said more than likely possible might take a bit of careful relocation to fit! I'd possibly consider a top mounted manifold if I were you ? But someone may be in a better position to pass comment I'm only going by the limited knowledge I know hope this helps

Ahh pete so size us an issue with these aswell :/ anyone heard of swapping radiators to a civic one so you get the extra space where you need it? I've done something similar to my Glanza to fit a td04l on

few people have done the conversions on R's & sr20's over the years.
if you have to buy the turbo & sort manifold then it quite expensive way to go when plenty of good easier options exist.
twin scroll is good for reduced lag & allows for good maifold design aiding good pressure distribution & scavenging effect..
I have a roller bearing titanium spec'd hta from an evo 5 that a spare feebie, to fit I want make a twinscroll runner paired manifold from scratch.
Was a company in canada & poland that done manifolds for the R for these turbos .

Bigfoot if you are after bigger power than the Norm (380-450) bhp then bob has some good second hand turbos in with manifolds and external screamers the lot ! Would definitely be worth taking a trip to him as he's very busy and not always able to answer the phone.

Depends what you are after really because my small housing 2871r allows for fast spool up times coupled up with some cams make my car a sprint monster which is what I wanted ! As with anything the bigger the turbo the slower the spool the way I look at it is when are you realistically going to see top end ? Hardly ever I suspect so I just wanted something quick off the mark, plus it retains somewhat stock driveability so was an obvious choice for me hope this helps

^ that's just it, likes of gtx series turbos on a ported standard manifold work real well even up to low 400hp range so not always a huge amount to be gained for potential cost & build effort. i have ttx & standard ported manifold at present & want try the twinscroll just as a comparison project really.

I'm on a budget lads so doubt I can afford the big turbo kit and a new gearbox when it eventually a shreds it lol iv got some money saved for Ecu injectors maf etc but not that clued up on these yet tbh I want around 340bhp ish but not chasing figures the standard turbo would be out of puff at 300 right? How much are the gt28's going for?

Try Owen developments they've got them at a good price Smile and stock turbo is good for 340 IIRC but that's at it's limit besides the maf and injectors max out then aswell

for 340 range I like the gtx2863 on a ported standard manifold & decent 3" elbow.
Makes a very drivable car & could get you some more hp if wanted.
340hp is good goal though & done well tends be a far more fun, versatile & trouble free car.
