This is pretty simple really and I know someone who had exactly same thing happen
From the looks of it I am assuming that the low wall is their own wall.
Knock a few foot out of that and the car will easily fit through the gap.
If anything was said they can say they used the neighbours driveway to drop car otr without damaging the posts.
Now if you really want to piss the council off you can build a small wall outside bordering pavement on your property and put the gate entrance directly in front of the post then as you walk out of your gate in the night you trip over the post injuring yourself and then take the council to court for damages and loss of earnings whilst your back (which you have severely injured) hopefully recovers
