Well pleased to say bill's car is all done and back on the road with a working clutch due to new clutch fork. Wasn't too bad a job really. Re a lining the box was a bit tricky but all done and he's driven it home ok so fingers crossed

So did you remove the box in the end then or just cut the hole in it ???

Bit of both. Un did everything to remove the box, separated it about an inch then decided to cut the hole a bit larger and slide the box back together. We were probably only an hour away and a bit of help away from having it fully removed but a few knackered nuts were making things a bit harder but ooooh well all done now

I think its a good idea to cut it out abit if it happens again its not a major ballache to change it over ...

Didn't do knock sensor and as for how much needs to be cut out its only about an inch wide by an inch and a quarter long just off one side so doesn't cause any other problems as I can see
