This I prefer the look of mine tho.   
It's a 1999 model 2.0L SR20DE with 100,000 k on the clock.
Automatic (I think all the 2L ones are) and a sun roof.
Cost £650 to buy and £600 to ship - and of course the import tax on top.
Should get it home and taxed and tested for well under 2 grand which was the target...
I've got a rebuild engine/gearbox to go in so just got to think about all the other bits now  ..

did you go through an importer john?
if so I was well and truly ripped off with newera imports

and did they not charge you a fee and so forth?

mine cost 2.5k and that's not otr or registered yet
the red one I bought in uk and got that for £1800 with collection costs

the build race is on now lol, im just not getting the time though what with the new business and so forth, time is not my best friend at the moment

The car was cheaper than usual for the model because it has 'discoloured paintwork'.... Don't care about that as long as it's not rust colour.

The same company will ship it to Southampton for $1000 (£600) and I've contacted a local shipping agent who will deal with the paperwork etc for £75. All I've got to do is pick it up at Southampton..
It doesn't need SVA as it's over 10 years old but does need an MOT. I've read on a couple of blogs that you can drive it to an MOT station before it's registered with the DVLA so might not have to trailer it.   Can anyone on here confirm that???

Yes, it will get my spare turbo engine, and I think the different front and double headlights does look a little better...

Yes that's correct john you can drive it to mot station before it's registered as you need the mot to register it and get a plate for her

Mines still not registered so doing all the work on it first then will take for mot.

Il check with my mate but as long as you have the car booked in and can prove your travelling to the test the same day I think you can drive it john as I picked up my first pulsar from Cheshire and booked it in for a MOT in my mates garage at wivenhoe a mere 300 odd miles away lol

I have been quoted £2800 to get a Pulsar from Japan to Southampton. This was speaking direct to the trader in Japan.
I then asked an agent to get me the same car, he quoted me £3800 to Bristol, + £469 their own fees, and about £600 to register, Mot, port fees etc..
That's like £5000  

Thinking of doing it myself, fees can't top £350 then register mot £200. £3300

Thoughts..

Yeah newera wanted 1400 from me to buy the car which probably only cost them around 400
Then 600 shipping and 300 import duty so 2.5k all in and it's not even registered yet

Thanks Paul - but can you do that if the car hasn't been registered with the DVLA - it wont have any number plates on it!! (some people seem to think you can)

I'm sure there will be one or two unexpected costs but I still hope it will be within budget.   

I live about 2 miles from Felixtowe docks which would have been a lot easier but they only do containers which would have cost more than twice as much for the shipping. So it has to be Southampton for the Roll on roll off.

When are you thinking of doing this? If I get the car I am deciding on we can share the container/ costs for Rasheen and a pulsar. I .e one person importing 2 cars to Southampton.
We can resister and mot later.
