Just a quick question, running a standard turbo, what rpm should the boost kick in ?, mine starts at 3000rpm or thats when you start to get the kick in the pants, seems a bit high, but I have not driven another GTIR to compare it to.
I know a lot of modern cars it kicks in a fair bit sooner, 2000rpm ish.

I thinks thats about right .... its only modern day diesels that start like 1500-2000 revs ...

Thanks for that, just wanted to make sure I did not have a problem, it's too easy to start poking around under the bonnet when you are not sure.

Leighton is right that's about right for the R an like he says new motors start at 1500-2000 look at the rev range on new cars as most of them only rev to 4500rpm.
