Thanks for all your kind messages. You all seem like a great set of fans. Much appreciated. For future pictures I'll send them to bob our parts man as I'm a bit of a technophobe when it comes to uploading pictures. !! He'll probably do them for me. !! I'll send him a few pics of the 106 maxi to upload for you guys. The fiat is having a new cage fitted at the moment and the escort is stripped, restored and going for paint in two weeks so I'll send you pics of those when they're finished. I told bob on the phone yesterday, the Nissan has the wrong sponsors stickers on it at present. The previous owner had them fitted but They are from 1992 and not 1991 when J2NME ran so I'll be putting new correct stickers On it in the next two weeks To make it correct same as the stig blomqvist picture if him sideways in 1991. Once again thanks for the warm welcome. B

Thanks for the replies and your kind comments. Much appreciated. The 106 maxi F2 kit car is one of 3 ex works cars built in Coventry by the peugeot sport uk rally team in 1997. The first car built is my car, registration R143ERW. This car was built for Justin dale to challenge for the 1998 British championship and the super 1600 cup. Justin's co driver was Andrew bargery, who later co drove for Marcus Dodd in the Hyundai accent world rally cars. Justin was second in the British championship in the first year with the 106 maxi, won every round of the championship bar 1 in 1999 and second again in the championship in 2000. R143ERW is the most famous 106 maxi kit car as it won nearly every event it entered. The other two works cars were driven by mark Higgins, James Thompson (the touring car racer) and Gary Jennings in Ireland but without the success experienced by Justin dale. The engines were built by the famous GMC / mini tuning expert, Richard longman down in Dorset proving total reliability. Wet stumped, 1598cc 16v cross flow with peugeot 406 touring car injection-to-head throttle bodies allowing the engine to rev to 10,000 with fully forged peugeot sport rods, pistons, crank etc producing 238bhp. Transmission is Sadev ST-75 sequential 6 speed gearbox with flat shift. ECU is EFI with full data logging. The car resembles a 106 only by means of shell, lights, windows, panels. Everything on the car is works peugeot sport specialist parts with full adjustable proflex suspension. I restored the car two years ago into its 1999 championship winning glory and colour scheme and I use it for demonstration events. I did the full TAC rally in Belgium with it last April together with some other classic rally cars covering 135 stage Kms and 80kms of road sections. The car never failed and I couldn't get another rev out of it a lot of the time even though now it's limited to 8750 rpm. It's a real handful to drive but massively rewarding. I'm pleased you like it. Once again thanks for all your interest and kind comments.

I might take it to rally day at castle Combe this year if it doesn't clash with any other event. It loves smooth tarmac!! B
