Makes little difference if repaired correctly. Plenty of proper bent wrc grpA cars got repaired & sold to private teams for serious money. that's the life of a rally car & just how it works, i'm just pleased see the nme cars alive & in one piece ...

If you read Mr B post he doesnt mention anything about pics, just hes please to see nme cars alive and in one piece. Just appears jack has a been in his bonnet with yourself and the J2 nme car.

Hope everythings going well with youself and the car

Yep, all is good. The sunny is coming along really well to be fair. All the bodywork is completed, the engine gearbox and diffs serviced and rebuilt. I'm in no rush. When it's done it will be the best one left out of the three original cars. Oh, and J3 - the spare she'll and parts car - Tony Brady's minter that jackwrc SORRY Abi bought...

I'm really inspired by the people on here that show an interest in the Real 3 cars that are left. I for sure may have the car at Rallyday Castle Combe in September as the organisers are desperate for it to be there as are the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Just have to see how it goes. The WRC team that are refurbishing the sunny giving it a top to bottom nut and bolt restoration have just built a top spec group A 1400s micra for my son to use in the BTRDA and they're running the car for him on nine events this year so it's time that's against all of us more than anything. He'll be driving my 106 Maxi Super 1600 F2 kit car at Rallyday and the sunny will be on display. Thanks for your support.

Went to Rally Day a few years back at Castle combe mainly to see Grp B S1 being driven by Mr Blomqvist, cracking day. If your cars going to be there this year then I'll pop down to have a look and dribble Laughing End of day rallying was at its best in the 90's, so many manufactures competiting, and no complicated electronic crap spoiling the spectatcular sideways action!

Cheers Gaz, yep you're dead right. My friend has an S1 and he takes it to events all over Europe. Very quick car. The sunny to be fair can hold its own. Back in the 1990's Nissan had developed a system where they could map the cars from a chase vehicle on the move between stages. It was banned by the FIA when they found out. So, Nissan had their fair crack at technology when you consider that the sunny GtiR was the first active World Rally Car. Way advanced for its day. A cut above the rest. Just breeder the inter cooler in the front bumper and not on top of the rocker cover. B

Good luck with the remainder of the resto and any pics for us gtir perverts to pull our plonkers too would be greatly appriciated.

Ignore the minority, the rest of the forum are not inrerested in the politics and just want to see pulsar and especially the NME cars restored and flying the gtir banner
