Right guys need some serious help!

My brakes on my R have always been crap, Basicly I can stamp on the brakes to do an emergency stop & it just gradualy stops like your slowing down for a set of traffic lights, It wont lock up! Theres just no bight?
Its been like this for the 4 years ive owned the car & never managed to sort it no matter what I do or change? Ive tried 2 mastercylenders & a different servo & must of bled them atleast 70 times... Still never any better  Evil or Very Mad

If I hit the pedal once it dousnt sink to the floor, BUT will go down further than if I let go & hit the pedal a 2nd or 3rd time... Its like it pumps itself up the 2nd / 3rd time I pump it to slow down...
BUT if I press it to hard the pedal feels solid like I hits a stop half way down & wont go any further??? That's the scary part, feels like the pedal hits a brick wall & cant push threw it?

Its like a preasure issue? even tho ive changed mastercylender & servo... Still the same?

Could this be a proportion valve issue? Even tho im getting good flow thew all calipers when bleeding?

I need to sort this now as its been 4 years ive put up with it & had to do an emergency stop the other night & luckily managed to swerve the car infront & ended up sitting next to him on the wron side of the road  Mad

have you tried changing the pipe from servo to plenum?

I doubt it will be the proportioning valve

Yeh the 1 way valve pape? changed that aswel mate :/

I have got the fuse out of the abs as I hate abs. But I hear a lot of people do this so I don't think that would be the issue?

no that wont be the prob

really cant think of anything else gaz other than servo and master which you've changed

I would have said try a different set of brakes but if it was doing the same thing before it cant be those either

only other possibility is a kinked or blocked brake line somewhere.
what ever it is its no doubt a problem mainly on the front brakes so considering its already had 3 different servos and masters I guess the only thing left is the proportioning valve, perhaps its restricting the flow to front but unusual as they are diagonally proportioned

Im getting a good flow of fluid to each caliper when bleeding so that rules out a kinked pipe i reckon?

The car dousnt pull under braikingm its perfectly strait, But just no bight & strange how pedel hits a stop halfway down?

Could it be a fault with the ABS pump, even tho its not working coz fuse is out, fluid still has to run threw it so wonder if that's the fault?

Try bleeding to abs pump ie crack the pipes at the pump then bleed to calipers. Any chance you could get it on a brake rollers so you can see brake readings etc.

Ill try it james. Do i crack them off on the abs pump then pump the pedal & lock them off when fluid comes out & the re bleed the callipers as normal?

Wilwood calipers & 285mm discs, unsure on pads, but pads wouldn't cause a stop on the pedal like theres a preasure issue?

That's it gaz crack them, pump pedal.
Had this ages ago on a nissan cabster. Shocking brake pedal & air was stuck in the abs pump. Some manufactures even say to activate abs when bleeding......

Ok cheers James Smile

Crack them 1 by 1 & start at the pipe that leads to furthest caliper & work my way in?

Cant you just loop it and take the pump out altogether if you think it maybe suspect and your not using it anyway ?

probably not the solution you're looking for, but i had a similar problem with the factory brake setup.
i switched to 4pot wilwoods and 280mm discs and it improved considerably but i still had abs a very long pedal and the car felt like it wouldnt stop once abs kicked in.
i would bleed the brakes often and the pedal would still remain long.

i ended up removing abs completely (kept the abs prop valve) and adjusted my brake lines to suit as well i switched up to a 1inch master from an altima. my pedal is now firm, short, and lock up is easy to induce when i want it too.

i followed it as reference, but i just followed the lines from the master to actuator to prop valve and just traced the lines that way.
