Right im taking my car to CPP Motorsport tomorrow afternoon, There a EVO speacialist & 2 miles down the road from me.

They've said they will bleed my brakes up for a 10er so just on the off chance they may get them better its deffo worth it for that money.

Anyway as some of you know about my bad brake pressure issues, is there anything I could get him to check like air in ABS pump etc? Dous the ABS pump have a bleed nipple or do you have to bleed each pipe?

Im having the same problem with my almera, and I think its the hoses expanding as ive changed to master cylinder, bled the abs by taking off each pipe on the block.

Ive got braided lines in the front wildwoods & standard rubber ones on the back which isn't ideal but I should have more stopping power than what ive got... Stamping on my brakes & getting no bite, only gradualy slowing down as if you was slowing down for a set of traffic lights isn't much fun  confused

well ive just checked my hoses and the brakes are no better, but i can hear a noise from the proportioning valve at the back of the plenum so there may be some shit in the valve which is letting oil past (thats what im hoping now :/)

Have you checked if the one way valve is working on the servo pipe buddy?.

Hmm, ok, I doubt that having the brakes bled again will sort it out, unless they bleed them a different way to what you have mate, it could be trapped air in the prportioning valve, or crap in there whch is stopping it from working correctly, just a quick question though, are all of the caliper pistons free, front and rear?, also are the rear sliders in the carriers free with minimal play/wear?.

Turns out its the mastercylender, fluid is getting past the seals

surely if fluid was getting past the seals you would have a leak : /

unless the pressure has blown a seal in it of course...........initially I would have gambled money on the mc being the problem but after trying 3 different ones surely they cant all be doing the same thing, plus the one that I sent you wasn't that old so im dubious tbh

but realistically it wont be air in the system, so other than a faulty servo or mc I cant see what else it could possibly be

im still not convinced about those calipers though as they creak when you apply pressure from stand still which could mean theres more pressure being applied to two of the pistons and not so much to the adjacent two

if a brand new master doesn't work bet that's the problem

when bleeding the brakes, are u pushing the pedal to the floor? this can damage the seal.
stick a block of wood under the pedal so you don't go to the floor when bleeding.

as for the caliper creak, i get this with my wilwoods, its a bit of caliper flex, coupled with the cotter pin, and the pistons being of equal size , unlike the more expensive calipers with smaller pistons up front.  the front pad gets worn tapered, and then the piston gets pushed out at a slight angle. what i do with my pads is flip them around to even out the taper every couple of months.

If I press the brake once it sinks a little bit lower than if I hit it a second or 3rd time. As if it pumps itself up & I get a little bit more stopping power but not a lot more... Then if I press the pedal hard & push threw the resistance then its like the pedal hits a stop & cant push it any further. Which genualy points to mastercylender at fault.

If I try a new M/C & rebuild the calipers & ive still got the same problem then im selling the f'ing thing!  Mad

Dont let it beat you gaz after master cylinder
Try uprated new calipers all round discs carbotec pads
Full braided lines the full length of the car
New rally pedal box with individual cylinders
Hydrolic handbrake
Adjustable bias valve
All in couple grand and a few weekends work you have options ha

Selling not an option, who the hell in there right mind would by a Pulsar :-P
Not that hard to work through faults on the brake system, little bit more money & effort & all will be sorted ;-)

yep as above gaz
fit a new m/c and then try it (99% of the time that would be the problem) if that don't work then I do have other ideas what it could be but if push comes to shove then you may need to alter a few things to solve the problem

don't let it beat you.........we never won two world wars with that attitude young gareth  Laughing
if the m/c don't work then let me know and il bring you some stuff to the rr day that will solve the prob hopefully, but im still not convinced with those calipers they just don't seem right to me even allowing for flex

Yeh I think more than just master cylinder could be at play here & whole system needs good check right from basics in an assume nothing & test/inspect everything approach.
My old mazda 323 B6T brakes went awful, pedal hard but braking effort pathetic, complete rebuild of front callipers & new slide pins etc had it back better than I could ever remember it being.
I find it hard that 3 masters could all be as bad & would of expected at least one to be good :-S I also expect Bob would of sent what he thought was the best of his MC spares knowing your situation from your brake thread.
Just stick with it or get another set of eyes & hands on it as for sure it should be reasonably easy to sort.

Ye don't give up, there's only afew components on a breaking system, first thing I would do is strip and clean and copper grease all ya callipers, cost nothing and gives you a good feeling yr doing maintain acne lol. After that I'd start on the cheapest easiest item and change it. When all's said and done all the components are old and new won't hurt anyway
