Alternator

Hi guys gonna remove the alternator tommorow as its knackered shouldbt be a problem removing,so just wanted to know what's best way of removing it how many bolts etc,does it pull out from top bottom easiest way,just a quick guide

undo adjuster so alternator swings loose
don't try remove the pivot bolt but instead unbolt the whole cast bracket (3 nuts) then drop the whole alternator with cast bracket through the bottom.
swap the alternator onto bracket then bolt the whole lot back up and adjust belt tension.

amount of people ive seen that try remove the pivot bolt and end up bending it as it wont go past manifold straight then they have real fun trying to re-install a bent 4'' long bolt lol

Thanks bob never ever been anywhere near a alternator since owning 5 pulsars lol,so wasn't to sure,but doesn't sound to hard lol will give it a bash in the morning

Do you still have air con in place? Cunt to get to the 3 bolt with the ac pump in place

i used to work once upon a time johnny

We all used to work .....now i just crash and bang about so it sounds like im working

Don't have no ac,but still a tight place to get ratchets and spanners around it,got a few cuts on my hand but worth it lol,got it rebuilt just need to put the bugger in now
