Just looking on eBay and seen a few fresh imports and they are wanting £6000.....what do people reckon they will be worth in say 10 years time?? Look at escort cosworths and r32s for example and what they are fetching now!

A good unmessed original examples will go up In value but by how much is a bit hard to say but i myself think £10k For a very clean original car isnt far away.

As for tuned cars with front mounts etc then not so much as down
To personal choich etc

I think 10k for an original in 10 years is a realistic price, I'd of thought more personally, and as for tuned then yes perhaps less than an original but not that much less I wouldn't have thought! Looked at original r32s compared to tuned atm, tuned are fetching more!

To be honest with you ( and maybe looking at it with rose tinted glasses) i think if you had a genuine low mileage minter then 10k seems way to cheep now. When the gtir was launched in 1990 it was a pretty bold and mad thing for any car company to release.People want to drive something different nowadays to stand out from the crowd, and you can definitely do that in an R.

it depends on country in the uk dont think itll be high
when you look at cosworth prices the high prices are generally uk very few high priced ones go out of the uk
i can see the gtir being worth more than double in the usa than it is here though

I like this thread. Just been out in my very original R and am very pleased to report for once that absolutely everything even the smallest of bulbs is all working perfectly , maybe just shot myself in the foot but we will see. Thing is if I sold it then what would I get to replace it? Can't think anything rocks my boat and this must be the same for a lot of people as I keep seeing people advertising for clean unmolested Rs but afraid they just rant about anymore and the ones that are just rant for sale. So if you want one sooner or later you have to pay

I wish I could afford to buy a bog standard one and make it a minter, and just put it away and leave it for years to come!

Looking at it from a different angle as I tend to do, if the price of an R suddenly shot up to say 20K, would you sell?
I would be a shame in a way if they were beyond the reach of the average buyer and were locked away in garages as investments.

What ever happens, I'll just have been glad too have owned one and enjoyed playing with it over the last few years. It was always a car I fancied when I was young but could never afford, and i waited until prices were rock bottom when I picked mine up. Still would like an evo though for the same reason but prices never went that low.

If my pulsar was worth 20k now I think I'd be tempted to sell .. but because it's only worth about 6k it's not worth selling ..
And that's the appeal . Cheap ish .
How many of ya would want to drive it every day if it was worth the same as an escort cosworth. . They'd just become show ponnies

^ no I think just a rough trader/importer trying his luck on some low graders he got from jap auction Smile
Prices are better & will get slightly higher but unless something exceptional they never going be silly money or easy to sell as simply very minimal & cheap interest in uk. Europe & the US different story.

I think the time has come for most of us to be priced out the gtir market if we haven't got hold of one yet. The gtir will fall into the hands of money hungry importers but it's them that will bring the prices sky high. So it's a good and bad thing.

There are still some cheap ones out there Andy.
I have seen a few needing tlc selling for £1000 or less over the ladt couple of months.
You only need to advertise that you are looking and people start to contact you.
Theres a winter green rolling shell for sale for £600 at the moment.
