I've been thinking about buying a carbon fibre spoiler so what's the general concencus on them ? Not going for the stock style spoiler fancy something a bit funkier so what do you lot reckon ?

I considered it but after having seen carbon spoilers on other r's I personally thought they looked a little odd and out of place, but that's just my opinion

I know your not going for stock looking but I think the carbon copies were heavier than standard. Tbh its your choice but if you want opinions throw up a pic of the spoiler your interested in.

Carbon ones are not full carbon. ..
They are fibre glass with a carbon skin. .

Amd having bought one recently wouldn't buy again from the company that sells them

I like them but personally I don't think it's worth it on your car as it's black and won't stand out much, the money will be better spent elsewhere like new wheels as they will make the biggest difference looks wise or get it re sprayed a different colour if you want funky, if I was having my pulsar sprayed I would go for purple i think

Thanks rob , Pete and Pete lol this is getting confusing too many Petes !!!!! Think I'll give them a miss and yeah I think you're right Aaron I wanted myne purple but the midnight purple three paint costs an absolute fortune besides id need bodywork in mint condition so I'll give it a miss then ! As always you guys have helped me arrive at a decision what would I do without you ey hahaha

I like anything carbon fibre, pretty much always looks cool but unless it makes the car faster or handle better, as GTIR-pimp said, is the money better spent elsewhere ?

carbon fibre is way over-rated.
The bonnets & spoilers that generally was available was mostly poor quality & minimal cf & mainly fg. just an elaborate cf wrapping really.
A real mint grey does look nasty in a good way with cf bonnet & spoiler, mirror covers & the likes.
Rear spoilers are best done by using original & having it coated to match a full cf bonnet.
No real worthy weight gain on a full cf spoiler for the cost, bonnet is a lumpy bit bit of metal so good weight saving is possible but all but the best cf bonnet will be a headache long term.
probably some of the best lightweight panel stuff done for R has been fg.

I know a friend of mine had his MR2 induction funnel thing carbon dipped and it looked almost real, was a lot cheaper than a carbon fibre replacement and I couldn't really tell much difference to my rear carbon bonnet
