cold start

On start up does the R have a cold start valve or is there a different map for start. Up. Been doing it for a few months now but is fine once warm. After 30 seconds its as if the engine starts pinking and doing gentle pops and idled low, once I start driving its fine and when warm no problems

I think if i remember right its gearbox box end mate.

yes there is a coldstart device mark, its at back of engine under plenum below idle speed control valve
its basically an auxilliary air valve which controls volume of air flow to richen and weaken mixture
