My Garage!

We moved to the Durham hills in February and bought this old Inn. It came with a massive function room at the side which I knew I could turn into the garage of my dreams.
Here's the before picture;


It's just had the drive dug out and doors fitted. Can't wait till it's finished

Yeah, i can't wait. Fitting a bar at the side for a cheeky pint break sounds good to me. Ill need a stiff drink for when i'm undoing the 'bastard' bolt.  

Eventually ill get the floor painted and plan on having a mini met-lab for measuring precision. parts etc so i dont have to take them to work.

Sounds unreal! how big is the space? looks like you'll have a lot of room in there aswell.

Its about 20m square so big old space and easy enough room for 4 cars, 6 at a squeeze, however i only plan on having 2 in there, the R and my next project which may be an R34. But thats years off as im totally skint now.

Im tempted mate as im pretty skint now. Thing is id have no customers round here, they're all sheep farmers or builders.

That's great then, plenty of space to fit equipment in aswell, I'm pretty jealous Id love to see what you'd do to an R34.

hahah well said!! although the only sound majority of us pulsar owners make is grunting pushing the pile up the driveway

Yeah its on a decent plot of about 3 acres and surrounded by farms.
The thing is we bought this place in the north for less then our 3 bed semi in the south!

Looks pretty neat can you squeeze a ramp in with the roof height?

I reckon I could fit a 2 post lift but wouldn't be able to raise it too high do so probably settle for a scissor lift. Not ideal but better having to drag yourself along on your back.

Looks really nice garage/workshop that and great location and level plot .
House will be useful for something perhaps !! like washing your hands I suppose ! hahaha
I wouldn't bother with scissor lifts as they restrict to much under vehicle access
You can get compact low lift 2 posts or just get regular budget 2 post and just limit lift .
even if sitting on a swivel stool on wheels it better than a creeper .
lift makes pulsar engine removal etc super easy precision task .
I f can't go up go down, a decent made pit is still super useful plus retains full floor layout when boards fitted over it .
For some work like servicing pit actually can be better, brake and suspension work lift nice but not a must if not doing the work often, decent pit with steel angle inlaid jack runner rails cheap do and diy possible .

That's my absolute dream!! That's just the best garage I have seen, you must be so chuffed with that

Mines ok nothing special, but it does me fine, has plenty of space and enough room for equipment and parts. Recently set up a home gym and with the R in a million pieces im running out of room
