Long storey short. Got messed about when I traveled a long way to get my car mapped. 1. Phone call to bob few hours later job done made 411 bhp a great figure but we took it back ready for the ring trip.

I won't lie had no time to post and as much as I trust bob mapping is something I don't fully understand and he is new to the game ( we all start somewhere) I don't just give my car to anyone. ( I should of known better he won't do any job unless it's done and done right ) what can I say them thoughts are well gone car drives spot on after a couple of tweaks. I was away I was convinced I had problems but found a split pipe and dodgy sensor this morning and that explains it. Bob went above and beyond spent time on his holiday away with us made a couple of adjustments to help because of a issue that come on sudden I could not find which is the reason I got home.( Without melting a piston in my opinion)

So basically anyone asking me ,thinking of mapping I would recommend bob as my car is now fully sorted and anyone else would send you away if something's not right I had this in the past and recent .Not bob he advises or fixes and has a bonus of spares on site .

Forget all the above any job needs the test of time and if 4 pulsars getting to Germany and back at times at silly pace ,inc track time ain't enough then nothing is my cars done 2000 mile plus now

He is like I say weather it's bob or anyone for that matter when your new to something or done it years I don't just let anyone have my car. Now that sounds bad as I class bob n Clair as extended family. But it's certainly had the test of time so now I have no problem in fully recommending the mapping side of things. I was down recent workshop is a well sorted place and it truly is a 1 stop shop for all gtir and other vehicles for that matter.what makes it what it is the fact he truly is a petrol head himself so nothing is to much trouble and aftercare is better than any other place I have seen/been in any car/bike/mapping place

No got onto gp circuit but had only 1 fan as the fitting kit did not arrive in time mate so was heating up to fast on track but it flys on the road like I say we set it to a lower boost setting making 350 ish 356 if I remember right and had to back off 3 times behind a m3 csl the light weight ones. Before my leak driving at home before the trip it drivability on and off boost was spot on

Just want to keep it simple if someone has face book ( I don't) and there is a gtir site. Put my graph picture and 1 0r 2 lines saying how pleased I am and it's proved the test of time As did the other 2 pulsars both mapped by bob which done all them miles gp circuit and they made it onto the ring

Glad shes all running ok Johnny. It had to be some sort of issue (not map related)which was causing the leaning out. My guess would have been that dv as it operates on very light load which it should not.

Il get the map uploaded on pro version for you as soon as opportunity comes

Hope your back gets better soon fella pale
I know what pain your going theough as put 4 vertebrae out of alignment few years back and not nice at all and back has never been right since

Good to hear that as usual Bob never disappoints. I have no doubt about getting my car mapped with him when the time comes...

A good little read there Johnny , another thumbs up for Bob.
Sounds like you have some good figures to play with.

As one of Bob's customers I have to say your spot on
I have met a few tuners from around the country over my 15 years of messing with cars and I am losing my trust as there are so many people who want to make a quick buck and end up taking on more than they can handle offering unrasitic goals.

Even now I'm having a hard time with a local set up getting some work done on my car.

I am getting to the point now if I can't do it myself then I will only trust my car to one man............ And I don't mind the 100 odd mile drive to south end.

Thanks for the feedback guys much appreciated.

To be fair i dont  consider myself as a tuner just a hairy assed mechanic with a few extra skills lol.
But from what ive seen from some of the cars and maps they have been given it surprises me that others have the ordasity to call themselves "pro tuners" when infact you could well be paying good money to literally have your engiunes life rapidly reduced so im shocked that some of these guys have got away with it for so long.

We have been extremely busy of late on the dyno and with mapping various cars, some i do myself but if something tricky comes along then il employ the services of one of the top guys we have available to us  as weve built up a network of various people who are proven experts in their particular field, i.e Romain Lewenski for one who is second to none with mapping vtec and Honda"s.  We have 6-7 various people available to us if i pick the phone up or get stuck with something myself they will help me out so thats quite handy.

Personally i love doing it as i find it very interesting and love seeing the look on peoples faces when they drive their respective cars, it really isnt about the money, although to be fair i have hadf some very good results of late particuarly with the gtirs and gtr"s too which aint bad for a relative novice in the game so im chuffed with what ive achieved so far and il only get better as learning new stuff every day.
Im also taking an exam in EFI tuning  so if i pass will then have the relevant certification to legitimately be able to call myself a tuner amongst other things.
Only downside is the immense amount of hours im working, im doing over 2 weeks of work every week so hense me not being on forum much of late, but as said i do love doing it and i tell everyone to tell me the truth with what they think of their cars afterwards as would rather them say if they are not truly happy with anything...........its the only way you can learn is with people being open and honest then that way i can try to resolve whatever issue their may be, in the long run this will make me far better at my job and i aim to be one of the best especially regarding any jap / Nissan marque as that is what we specialise in.

Tuning is not as hard as people are led to believe at end of the day its a series of mathematical equasions that form either an ignition or fuel map and if i can do it then im sure many others can too. The most important thing is to fully understand exactly how an engine works and whats doing what at a given time so if you know that then your already half way there.

Anyway as said guys Thanks for the feedback as without it you dont know whether your heading in the right direction or not so its very useful whether it be good or bad thumbsup

Hi Bob,

I know of Romain he does work at Eurospec in Guildford, believe he is self employed so can travel to any dyno...

has a crazy crx, 500bhp in a tin box! affraid
http://www.speedhunters.com/2012/07/the-language-of-tuning-romain-levesques-crx-pt-1/

Eurospec is just round the corner from my house. They fix stuff on my car when I can't do it. I'd bring it you if you weren't so bloody far away! Smile

There's always ridiculous cars in with them guys as they do alot of time attack stuff, hondas and mitsubishi are their main thing...

Good luck with your EFI exams!

Cheers,
Adam
