Exhaust Manifold

Not really sure. Japspeed manifolds crack all the time and I am insure of thickness tbh. That one states it has a years warranty and 3mm thick but who knows what it will be like. It looks the same as a japspeed one to me. How much power will you be after a ported and wrapped stock manifold looks good too see my pics of mine in the thread on general discussion... :-)

Isn't a tabular manifold better even at lower hp?

Porting a stock manifold is better .... i think the japspeed manifolds are quite thin i wouldnt say they are 3mm thick tubing .... that manifolds same design but guess it would be for stock fitment .....

Strange that. I have their aluminium radiator and it works very well. Would have thought they'd do a better job with their manifolds than the reputation they have with them

I'd go with porting the stock manifold. That manifold might be thicker than the cheap ones but I think it will still cause you problems down the track. If you want an aftermarket manifold a mild steel steam pipe manifold is what you are after.

Even unported standard has achieved over 450hp.
Top effort on porting standard manifold & fitting best design elbow & exhaust is where money wants go.
If going tubular it needs be proper quality & design, runner length & diameter all important for proper worth while result & needs match your build criteria .
If you using a turbo that will fit in stock location & flange then stick with standard & port it, blueprint it to head ports & do a nice effort of heat wrapping it .
Equal length runners are not huge concern on turbos, gas velocity & free flow is important though .
Shiny parts look nice but without design data such as runner lengths, diameters, flow bench & dyno results most are nothing more than short term jewelery .
Stainless not a great material for turbo manifold, like woody mentioned steam pipe is pretty good, you can make some first class manifolds out of the pre formed steam pipe bends & it will last years & if ceramic coated look better too.

Mightydquin made over 470bhp on a ported manifold, I'm just over 400bhp on one as well!

As above, great results can be had from the standard manifold. Upgrading isn't always required especially if budgeting and spending the money where it's really required.
