My pride n joy arrived this morning. 1991 pulsar gti-r. Speedo not working? What will it be?

typical area of fault is clock circuit board/plugs, dial motor or if fitted delimiter/converter unit/wiring fault .
In UK had trend for white dials and had a lot of faulty clocks after they been fitted .
Worth checking speedo sensor on gearbox for plug/wiring & signal output, can use an led as simple signal output testing tool . did have a post about it, if find it will add link .

Does the trip meter count up? If that works then probably all OK and just a sticky speedo. If not then start checking all the above....
