I'm just back from the Nurburgring and need to up grade a few bits before I do any more track time.

Suspension was not up to it I have uprated which was on the car when I bought it GAB I think. But I want some adjustable coilovers what would ppl suggest. I don't want Chinese shit either. Anyone recommend something?

Cheers

^ agreed, BC's are good for price depending on what you are mostly using them for.

Even good shocks with new inserts and springs spec the rating to suit what you mainly using the car for

KYB are good as can rebuild them with the larger bilstien inserts and get custom springs and valving which can work out real good.
For cost then bc not bad as does a lot for the price but rod short stroke and far from amazing damping stops it being spectacular and makes road/track compromise/balance tricky .
None of other coil overs in similar price range are any better than bc really .
I liked the ohlins but finding decent set that performing real well these days is unlikely due to age .

Thanks, I was told BC are Chinese made and shipped over and badged? Same as D2's, Anyone know anything different to that? But saying that if everyone is having good results then it doesn't really matter.

I've been trying to find some Tein but cant find any for sale?

I'm only using my car for the track now, so apart from driving to events its not for road use. I'm looking for solid I had so much arch rub round the Ring even after rolling the rear arches while out there so I want to try and limit that.

They made in Taiwan with varying parts sourced from likes of china, japan.
BC, mister R & D2 are all very similar, I would rate BC better & apparently uk support for spares/rebuilds is good.
If you not got budget for anything better then they can work with effort selecting right springs for your usage, mixed with proper setup & not dumping too low. They work but indeed are nothing special but at decent prices like bob sells them at it an affordable option, if they would do custom with minimum double the droop/bump travel they would work way better for the R on right springs .
R's handling is one of it's biggest weaknesses & also one area that can be massively improved but decent kit is decent money so not going be option for everyone .

300 to 400 quid? Guess it depends on condition as tein age quickly and paint flakes off the buggers. If yours are mint then maybe 500?

Hey mark you were at nurburg 2 weeks ago? I was there with my gtir i spoke to you. Your wheels were pretty wide i'd go with new wheels to stop any rubbing. I had 8j's and swapped to 7j's and no rubbing even other the harshest of bumps. I have tein ss and had one rebuilt, cost £237 but mine was buggered but a normal service is 150-160. If you took them to tein direct probably less.

On the track my tyres let me down as they were washing out. My mate in his escort cosworth had michelin pilot 4's and they just stuck to the track so i will be looking for a set. My discs were warped badly so couldn't even use the brakes.

All i could think about round the track was "don't crash it it will cost you lot's of monnies"

Hiya Mate, yes I was thinking about getting a set of track wheels what size are yours?

I think ill still do the suspension as I think it could benefit from some coilovers.

I warped my brakes on my second lap but this was because I was being to cautious with what I thought my cornering speed was once I grew a pair they were ok. Are you on standard callipers?

I was on evo brakes but only noticed they were warped when slowing down on the motorway. Oh and wheels are 7j et40 but et35 with a spacer with 205/45/16.

3rd lap i didn't like because they closed the circuit earlier and everyone swammed the track when it reopened.
A merc crashed infront of me and someone was very close to rear ending me pushing me on the grass.

Thinking about doing jim's castor mod for more turn in.
